the housekeeping staff needs to remember that I am paying the same rate everyday and therefore needs to replace ALL supplies used and not think that it is ok NOT to replenish the roome.

The room and the staff were good. The breakfast was not very good. They even charged for it. This is something that most all other hotels in this catagorie, supply as part of the room charge.

Spent two nights during GVSU graduation ceremony. Perfect location for any downtown events. Could walk to Van Andel without ever going outdoors. Reasonably priced compared to other downtown locations. Room was OK - staff was outstanding.

Flew into Grand Rapids for a business trip, I had stayed in that building before when it was a Hilton a few years ago so I wanted to try it out again. I did not eat anything at the hotel so I cannot comment on that. Free wifi was great. TV was a flatscreen hdtv with inputs on the back so that was good for netflix on the phone at night. Standard definition channels on the HDTV didn't make it look great. Small bathroom in my room, toilet and bath/shower with the sink separated into the room. The room did have a slight funk with the ac/heater on.
Something to note is that there isn't a shuttle from the airport. It was $32 dollars plus tip to get to the hotel.

We traveled across the state to hear Trace Bundy perform in Grand Rapids. I booked the Amway based on the reviews I read on Orbitz. The hotel was spectacular! We parked easily and walked into the older part of the hotel. The decor was breath-taking, crystal chandeliers the size of an suv, velvet everywhere, ornate architectural details! We found the check-in desk (between the old part of the hotel and the new part) Our room was in the new section, 11th floor, corner room so the views of the city and the river were fantastic. The room had everything we needed, including a small fridge. Beds were comfortable, 24 hour room service and we watched fly fishermen fishing in the river while we ate our morning breakfast. The staff was extremely friendly and polite. Loved our stay there!

This is by far the best hotel that I ever stayed in, and I travel the world. The Amway Grand is up there with the Intercontinetal Hotels of the world. Great food, excellent rooms and outstanding personnel.

Serious Check In Issue!

I have stayed at this hotel before, that is why I chose to stay again. It is beautiful, clean, modern, comfortable, and a good value. But check in didn't go so well...Upon checking in, they had my reservation, but gave me a King Room. On my Orbitz form it clearly stated that I had 4 guests. The clerk told me that it doesn't matter, because it wasn't specified that I wanted a room with 2 Queen beds! So apparently 4 adults are supposed to sleep in a King bed! I was furious, because she stared at me blankly and said there wasn't anything she could do!! After asking to speak to manager, magically there was a room available that just needed to be cleaned. After asking what she could do for us for our trouble, she took care of our parking bill. I'm uncomfortable about the way the Orbitz reservation was treated as if it were a less priority than if I had booked directly with them. Makes me uncertain about doing it in the future...or I guess I will call ahead and make sure they have it right before I plan on it!

This is my favorite downtown grand rapids hotel. It is modern luxury in a great location. It has a fantastic shower and bathtub. I really like almost everything about this hotel, the only downsides I can think of are the cost and that they don't have an ipod dock.

I booked the 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo for 1 night. It was only about $130 after taxes & was a great value. It's right next to a mall. I usually only stay in 4* and 5* hotels, and I found this to be very comfortable, spacious & clean. I stayed in 3 other nearby hotels that week & this would be my first choice for staying in that area when I go back. It's not luxury, and the decor was not really my style, & there was no elevator to the 2nd floor, but those were the only cons.

Even thought this hotel was just an overnight stay, it was very friendly and very clean. My husband and I traveled with our 2 daughters. The room was a good size and the continental breakfast was great in the morning. I have no complaints at all.

We were celebrating a birthday. The stay was wonderful. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The only problem was too many people in the pool with the 2 big groups of Cheerleaders staying also. The room and price was just right.

Fine hotel for the price!

The Radisson is a fine hotel. The hotel is 42+ years old and obviously shows some aging. However, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the beds were Sleep Number beds (which we didn't particularly care for), and the staff was very friendly and helpful! The hotel is located just north of the downtown area, far enough that you would not want to walk to the downtown area unless it was a beautiful day and had really good walking shoes. The restaurant and bar in the hotel were a nice, inexpensive surprise!

Lobby wervice was friendly, Beds were Sleep # beds so they were very comfortable. Rooms themselves, hallways and elevators are dumpy.
Restaurant was a highlight, very friendly wait staff, great view a pleasurable experience.
However all of these pluses cant overtake the general dumpiness of the place. I wont go back.
In due fairness, they have redone the lobby and ressteraunt, I just hope they do not stop there.

Hotel is lobby is very inviting and has a cozy feeling. Hotel staff were very courteous and helpful with our questions regarding restaurants nearby. Our room was very clean and updated with current style/furnishings. Complimentary breakfast options were great. Location of hotel has easy access to freeway for getting to the downtown area. Excellent hotel.

My 3 high school girlfriends and I get together once a year. We picked Artprize as our destination this fall. The hotel was absolutely fantastic! The comfort, the clean rooms, the WONDERFUL staff! The breakfast was great. I couldn't criticize anything. The warm cookies when we arrived was a neat touch as well!!! We loved it, and will come back again!!

"BEWARE!! Not for family!

Worst Hotel stay ever!...it was a run-down hotel with old broken beds, light bulb was missing, slider was broke, no screen on slider, it was stinky & dirty. We got woke up in the middle of the night with some one banging on our door, then trying to open it, it was security trying to kick some one out-but he was at the wrong room! The pool was dirty & cloudy. We didn't ask for much from the maid the next day except for clean, dry towels and we NEVER received them! The beds were hard & noisy, the rooms don't look like the picture! No in-room coffee pot, not a-lot of breakfast variety. Only got about 10 channels on TV. This was also in a bad area-had alot of "drunks" being loud in the halls at all times of the night! Could hear everything and every one every time some one walked in the hall! I did not enjoy this stay and WOULD NEVER recommend this hotel to a family with small children! or to any one!! :(

The American Best Inn and Suites was an horrible experience!! I did not dare take a shower in the bathroom and the sink looked like it was going to fall off the wall.We were told the pool(indoor) was open.We checked it out...the water was ice cold and the roof was leaking in the pool area and the walkway to the pool.It was god awful.Hotel staff was very rude.

Can't complain. I liked my stay at this hotel. Friendly staff, good location. The room was clean and descent for the price you pay. Didn't care for the A/c that gave off a bad moldy smell to the room. But other than that I enjoyed my stay, and I would come back to stay.

The hotel itself wasn't that bad but I would think for the amount I paid for the room I would have at least got a mini fridge or microwave in the room, and the tv only had 7 channels and the hotels free wireless wasn't all the great either I was hardly picking it up.

Nice but not so quiet

Traveled for business as well as a family function. Room was more than adequate and relatively clean, aside from the massive cobwebs over each bed, but overall the suite was nice and decently maintained. My only complaint was the noise. I could hear the man in the next room snoring & folks on the same hall were together & played in the hallway at all hours & that made sleeping very difficult.

I was in Grand Rapids for a weekend shopping trip with my husband. We were VERY impressed with this hotel. The room was clean and cozy, and the bed was comfortable. It was nice having a kitchen in the room!! The bathroom was also very nice and clean. It was definitely not your typical "hotel" feel, it was more cozy like an apartment, which we liked, especially since we stayed 2 nights. The free hot breakfast in the morning topped any hotel complimentary breakfast we have ever had!! The location is alright. It is a wee bit off the beaten path, but still very close to shopping and restaurants. We wished it had an indoor pool, but the outdoor one looked very nice for a summertime stay. We just think that in Michigan, hotels should have indoor pools for year-round use. Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations especially for the price. We have stayed at other hotels for almost double the price and were much happier here. We would definitely stay here again.

fantastic breakfast and room size and amenities

The 2-bedroom suite was large with a full kitchen and living room with fireplace. We traveled with our grandkids and everyone had plenty of room. The pool was very popular, the area was well stocked with towels. The breakfast was the biggest I'd seen, very complete. The service was courteous, friendly and right there when you needed them. The rug in the room could have been cleaner, however.

This hotel was easy to find, blocks from major shopping malls, both Centerpointe and Woodland. Every imaginable restaurant you could imagine was within walking distance. The rooms were clean, and fully stocked with dishes, pots, pans, dishwasher, ice machine in the freezer. The only complaint which is very petty was that the pool is extermely small and shallow. 4'6" at the deep end.

Overnight business trip. Should have bought my bathing suit, as there is a very nice indoor/outdoor pool. New rooms, quiet, nice restruant, tight run operation throughout. Only negative is that the Phillips flat screen had a poorly focused picture intinsic with the cheap tv.

Great location, easy to find, good, attentive staff,
the rooms were great and quiet. We had three rooms next to each other, but the quiet reigned. Except for the heater on the pool not functioning, we have nnothing negative to report.

Nice Pool for Kids

The pool was very nice...also very busy! Our kids had lots of fun splashing around. :-) Room was clean and quiet which was surprising being right next to the pool area. Nice continental breakfast in the AM too.

We were very impressed with how clean our suite was, and the friendliness of the staff. It was very well located for major Grand Rapids area attractions.
We were quite pleased with our stay and will recommend it to friends and family.
The only drawback was the miniscule signage posted on 28th street and Hotel Avenue--we were constrained to call the hotel to ask for directions as a result of missing the tiny sign.

Pretty cool stay in Grand Rapids

Had a great stay in Grand Rapids visiting schools. The hotel was pretty close to everyplace we needed to be and was out of the way of traffic. Clean and quiet with nice TVs, and a friendly staff. Free breakfast, a nice indoor pool and 24 workout room rounded everything out. I'll probably stay there again on my next visit

We had a comfortable stay in this all-suite hotel. Rooms could be updated, but were clean. Conveniently located off 28th Street near freeways and lots of shopping and restaurants. There is a complimentary breakfast bar. I would stay here again.

The elevator malfunction was huge inconvenience. I was traveling on business and had a lot of equipment that could not be safely stored in my car. It resulted in numerous trips dragging the cases up and down the stairs. The closest staircase was exterior with ice on it.

Very nice and clean, very friendly staff

It is located right by 96, east to get to although it is set back and not easlily spotted.
The only thing I would change is there chairs in the room. They were like kitchen chairs and not comfortable to relax in. As a senior and with leg problems it is not easy to set on a bed to read or watch TV.
Everything else including there breakfast and their hospitalty was great.
We were there for a funeral so we did not do much around town
