Crowne Plaza GRAND RAPIDS - AIRPORT

This was a nice hotel. Bit older and looked it. The rate was lower than any of the other chain hotels in the area. Used the workout room, but the whirlpool was closed for repairs.

Pleasant. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

Overnight business trip. Should have bought my bathing suit, as there is a very nice indoor/outdoor pool. New rooms, quiet, nice restruant, tight run operation throughout. Only negative is that the Phillips flat screen had a poorly focused picture intinsic with the cheap tv.

The hotel staff were very nice, and when I lost a night's stay due to weather, they couldn't refund [...] but they did give me a free breakfast certificate. The room was nice, and recently updated. There is no fridge. The room was too warm for my taste, and the individual thermostat wouldn't lower the temp even though I set it to 60; I ended up opening the window. The hotel design is awkward and I think I had to walk a quarter of a mile to get to my room.

We enjoyed our stay, because it was close to our doughters house, convenient to shopping and restaurants. The room was very spacious.

I was here for a weekend seminar. We received lunches and they were good. The room was clean and bed was very comfortable. They provide plenty of pillows on the bed if that is what you prefer. The only negative thing is that it is a little difficult to find in the evening. You can see the hotel from the road, but the street is before you actually see the hotel. Better signs would help. There is a Walmart and Meijer a couple minutes away from the hotel. Fast food and sit down restaurants are very close, too.

They checked us into a room that was occupied. We had to carry our bags back to the lobby to get another room. They apologized for the inconvenience. The housekeeping maid did not clean our room. We returned from our business meeting at midnight to a room not cleaned and beds unmade. They apologized again.They offered a fifteen dollar adjustment.

Beds were nice and comfortable. Walls were a bit thin. Too much noise from the hallway.

I booked ahead of time on Orbit's and payed on-line for a better rate, non-refundable. I showed up tired and wanted to check in. I was waited on by a young trainee. She asked for my credit card and swiped it. I told her that I already paid and showed her my Orbits reservation. She said sorry, said she would take care of it, and so I received my credit card statement, only to find they charged me again. I now have to talk to their accountant tomorrow, May 11th to square it away. What a hassle.

We were awakened in the night (3am) by a loud banging noise. We looked out from our balcony and a large piece of metal was hanging off t he roof and banging on the side of the balcony. We tried to ignore the sound but it was so loud we could not sleep. We called the front desk and s gentleman came to our room immediately and changed us to a new room where we could sleep. I felt the staff was excellent in responding to our situation. It was extremely windy that night which probably caused the piece to come loose from the roof. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would return there again.
