TownePlace Suites by Marriott Kalamazoo

This 1 bedroom studio is like an apartment(fully stocked dishes,dishwasher,stove/oven,refrig/freezer and dining table with 4 chairs. It was very clean and roomy. It was nice to have two T.V.'s in different rooms. This is one of the nicest set ups I have had an hotel room.

We were looking for higher than average quality and a good deal. The deal was there, and the property was an attempt at a more upscale entended stay hotel--which it was. Attention to detail was missing, in both the big things and little touches. Examples of big things: First room, entry door was open and freezer door was open. Second room we tried, the bed was slept in and not remade. Are these security issues or is no one following up on housekeeping? Not so big of a deal: complete set of glasses missing, 4 packs of decaf in the room but not one regular coffee. The rooms were nice and the property was well maintained. But it is clear that the staff needs closer supervision.

When checking in, the guy at the desk was not so nice, but I only dealt with him for about 20 seconds, so it didn't matter much. Everyone else was quite nice. I spent a lot of time comparing prices, and this place, including a kitchen, was still cheaper than most nearby hotels without one. I would go out of my way to find a TownPlace again. The decor also reminded me of a Hyatt Place we'd stayed in in Orlando - very fun and boutique hotel style.

The location just off the Interstate on the outskirts of town offers fairly easy access to local destinations without paying a premium for location. At current rates this is an exceptional value relative to other hotels -- not just extended-stay suites. The rooms are larger and have better design flow than most other properties I've come to associate with Marriott. When traveling on business, even for a day or two, it's so hard to eat healthy meals that the full-size 'fridge is bonus by itself. The staff seem engaged, so hopefully the care given to this new property will keep it in good condition for some time to come.

This hotel is perfect! Easy access off of I-94 one exit from the US-131 interchange. Very clean and new. Great modern decor with stainless steel appliances in the mini kitchen! Apartment sized refridgerator, microwave, dishwasher, sink, & dishes - perfect for saving money. Free breakfast is more than donuts and coffee...they have yogurt, hot & cold ceral, waffles, pastries, fresh fruit & juices, toast/english muffins/bagels...amazing! I stayed here for 3 weeks with 2 small children and I felt safe & they had a blast. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel!

It was a VERY nice and new hotel. The kitchen was stocked with pots/pans/dishware. We didn't use it, but nice to know we would have had the option. We wish that there had been a jacuzi and the pool was small, but for our purposes the hotel was great.

Hotel was great, clean, modern, loved the kitchen and bathroom, great internet acess - the only drawback was my fault - I thought it had a hot tub, but it didn't. Staff friendly and helpful.

Went to visit family and chose this hotel as it was close to two of the family members. The location was convienent to others in the family as well. The room which we stayed was well appointed with more than what we needed for our stay. The kitchen area included a cook top, microwave, assortment of dishes and pans as well as refridge which was convienent for keeping cold items during our stay.

We've stayed there many times now and have had a great experience every time. The staff is nice enough, the rooms are always clean, and it's generally quiet.

Before we booked our room we called the hotel to get a verbal description of the room. The person we spoke to got it all wrong. I only booked the room because what he described was exactly what I needed, when we got to the hotel the room was totally not what we needed or wanted.We were stuck with trying to make it work. Kinda ruined the weekend.
