5 Sunburst Chairmans Award Property. Newly renovated 2006 and 2009. Free High Speed Wireless Internet in all Rooms And Public Areas. 14-person gazebo whirlpool. Gift shop. Indoor pool, sauna, and 2 whirlpools. Pool open 7am to 12am. Fort Days Childrens Playground. Dog Friendly Rooms. We have a 15.00 Fee for One night or 25.00 Total Charge for 2-7 Nights. Pool or Bird Bath

The room was smaller than I expected for a room with two twin beds. The bath was almost too small to turn around in. Smelled of smoke when we got there. There was hardly anywhere to put a suitcase. Didn't have an exercise room at all and the pool was the size of a large bird bath. I like to swim a few laps but they really shoudln't advertize that they have a pool. I guess its okay for kids to splash around in. I think they increased the price becasue the ariving NMU students crowded all the hotels. For the price there must be better close by.

Manageable but not expected

My family (four of us) traveled together to visit a college. To save money we got one room. The pictures were very deceiving to the room size. It was small. Also the pool area is very visible to everyone, more so than any other hotel I have ever been to. Despite the misrepresentation in photos, we still enjoyed our stay. The hotel was clean and in a good location for us. One other problem we had was the shower didn't drain the water out.

I wonder what the winter's like?

I was just in town to help at a party for a friend. I found the hotel to be very clean and the staff very friendly although sometimes they appeared overly tired. I would suggest that the carpet from the lobby through the breakfast room be replaced as the pattern is fairly nauseating, it has offset reds and blues making it look like an old 3D picture. My room was a little smaller than I expected but I was still happy with it. An odd trait of the room was that it seemed lopsided; the had a subtle bend and angle to it. Since I stayed in the summer I brought up winter in my title. This hotel tries to be very skier friendly, whether or not it actually is will be unknown to me. I did see a room labeled "Waxing Room" but I thought of something different at first. The pool was a little small as well, but perhaps large enough to accommodate the hotel at full capacity. Mercifully there are two hot tubs, one for the kids and one for the adults. And, my personal favorite, a wet sauna (throwing water on the rocks). All in all, this was a great hotel for the price (I paid $150 for two nights on a summer weekend) and I would stay there again my next time.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

I usually hit a local grocery store during all my hotel stays, this saves a little money especially in places that offer high priced sodas and snacks from vending machines, or should I want a more adult beverage. Turn right out of the lot and drive down the highway a little while (not far), just stay right. The first stop light you come to that you can turn right on do so, right again and you come to a local grocery store, Econo Foods. Load up. Go back to the hotel.

Days Inn

The hotel was average, and might have even enjoyed it, but the bed was incredibly hard to sleep on. I might have been more comfortable sleeping in one of the chairs.

Good value
