Not Terrible, But Wouldn't Stay More than a Night

I stayed at this hotel for only a night after a wedding reception I attended. The only big issue was a breaker went out, but it was fixed really quickly. It was mostly "smaller" issues, like how the lights above the bed are placed so low you can't sit up in bed properly, how the toilet didn't feel secured to the floor and tilted while you used it, how the parking lot was cramped and needs repair, or how the neighbors were kind of shady and scary people. It was certainly comfortable and definitely within my tight budget. While I'd think twice about staying there again and certainly think twice about staying more than a single night, my one night there was okay.

It was a hotel room.

Very average, older hotel (think: a basic place in the 70's, similar in spirit to small mom & pop places in Myrtle Beach, Panama City, etc.) its clean and cheap. Good restaurants and bars nearby, only hotel thats is near (walking distance) horizions center. Its also the only hotel in Saginaw Twp, outside of the mall corridor. While I would probably not stay there again(unless there were no other options)if you were captive, and HAD to stay nearby... it would be OK. But if you have a car, your better off at the hotels by the mall (more shopping, dining, entertainment options).

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Timbers nearby-good bar/restaurant, bowling alley across the street, Patty flemings bar nearby-good bar avg food. Couple of banks (ATMS) and convience stores within a short walk.
