Howard Johnson Of Traverse City

Customer Service was the poorest I have seen. Accusatory staff regarding number of people staying at hotel. They assumed they were correct and would not listen to reason. Hotel night clerk and manager were not cooperative. We ended our stay early and went to a nearby hotel.

From day one we had a poor experience at Howard Johnson in Traverse City Michigan. The Staff (Mo) was rude from the day we checked it, she questioned us as to how many people we had in our room and kept at it through Saturday. The Housekeeping staff was taking notes on us while we were supposed to be enjoying our stay. They came into our room when we were out to check how many bags etc. we had in our room without cleaning our room. The Front Desk staff called two of our rooms to ask how many people were in our rooms, of course we told them then she hung up on us twice. (Poor service). We were also told that we could not visit between rooms because that was against Howard Johnson Policy. Taking notes, being harassed and feeling like a criminal was not how I wanted to spend the weekend with my girlfriends. We did end up leaving Saturday Night because the General Manager (Jeremy) persisted to argue with us about room charges, and the amount of people we had in our rooms. Overall it was a poor hotel, service was awful and we will not be going back nor sending any of our friends to the Howard Johnson.

We spent a night here on our trip around Lake Michigan. This was the best motel on our trip. Room was very clean and spacious. Unlimited breakfast was good (the only thing lacking were fresh fruits). Didn't have much interaction with staff, no opinion. Motel is located very conveniently if you drive through Traverse City, but probably not within walking distance to any attractions.

King with Jacuzzi room. Perfect for a couple day retreat. Great price! Motel still remodeling, so be patient with a couple of outside eyesores for now. Room VERY clean and comfortable.

I was coming to town for a job prospect. I booked my room the day before and was so excited to get a king room for 31.00. When I arrived in town they had just had a huge snow storm and power was out in many places. The Howard Johnson still had power but no wifi or cable. I was lucky to get a room at this price before the rooms were sold out! The room was super clean and the bed was so comfy! We will definitely stay here again!!!

Very clean room. Was like an upgraded mom and pop run motel. Front desk staff polite. Only problems I had was the tv remote didn't work and al the buttons wore off the heat controler, and no instructions on how to work it. Kindda a guessing game for climate comfort. But other than those minor things a very nice place to stay.

We were very pleased with our stay here and we felt we got our moneys worth & my cousin stated the same. It was just what we needed for a quick stay in Traverse City. The rooms were very clean and spacious for four people. The breakfast was a bonus as my sisters stayed at different hotel and paid more with no breakfast included. The breakfast room has a very welcoming feel to it and is a nice place to eat or hang out. One amenity I can think of that is lacking is a pool, but I knew that when I registered, and it was not a going to be a long stay. The remodeling stills feels and looks new, .

Did not expect very much for such a low priced motel, but took a chance anyway. Was very pleasantly surprised. Did not have a refrigerator in room as promised, so called down to front desk and they brought one to the room immediately. Staff very kind and helpful. The only negative was that there was a snow storm and parking lot not plowed when leaving around checkout time. For the price I paid, I am quite happy with Howard Johnson's of Traverse City.

Clerk friendly, informative, and efficient. Clean rooms, nice cont. breakfast, overall good value for dollars spent.

The motel staff was very friendly and when we arrived and went in to check in they had everything sitting there waiting to be signed. I was in the office a total of about 5 minutes. The room was in very good shape very clean and very nice size. I highly recommend this motel if your ever in Traverse City Mi. We will for sure stay there again. The room rate was also very good .
