4 Star experience.
First the location is AWESOME! Being the tallest building in the area the top floor view from bar is unmatched. Panoramic view of the Lake and rolling hills is spectacular! Room lighting from multiple windows is perfect. What I would like to see is upgrade to TV (reception is bad and maybe need to upgrade to Flat Screen HD). Also, wireless internet kept dropping from my tower but worked better in lobby.

Love the Winery Tours
Old World Charm and Ancient Plumbing
We stayed at the Park Place to celebrate a special occasion in the beautiful Traverse City area. The hotel's location is absolutely perfect - centrally located to the many area attractions. The hotel staff was friendly and very efficient. The Park Place must have been truly wonderful in its prime. Unfortunately, time has marched on and the Park Place has fallen a few steps behind. Rooms and hallways appeared fairly dated in furnishings and appearance. Hopefully you won't have to spend much time in the bathrooms. The word small doesn't do justice to the layout. The "behind your back over the right shoulder" TP holder location was very creative, just not very practical for those without the proper skills. My favorite bathroom feature was the random temperature shower. We were there on a busy weekend, but one would expect a modern hotel to be able to keep up with a solid occupancy rate.

Generally pleasant experience -- but hotel furnishings showing their age with some lamps that do not work and misfit dresser drawers.

Great location within walking distance o
Walked around the area of the hotel and down to the marina, ate in the area, drove to the many beautiful areas near the hotel. We would liked to have had a room with a view of the bay. This was a great trip, our first trip to upper Michigan and we could not believe the beauty of this area
