The Suites is in the heart of Canal Park — perfect for shopping, seeing the harbor and Lift Bridge. Great views of the city. Convenient to get to and explore the rest of Duluth. The suite needed a couple more comfy chairs and ottomans, and table lamps, for sitting around in the evening. Suite was fine — not plush but more than utilitarian. Great breakfast and wonderful happy hour with Timber Lodge.

Fantastic deal!
I went up to Duluth with my fiancee for a final job interview and we chose to stay at these suites. The room was MASSIVE! I'm not sure if we were mysteriously upgraded but we ended up with an outward facing window with a nice view of downtown and the Irvin. As I said, the room was huge. The staff was almost invisible, in a bad way, but responsive once you get their attention. The refrigerator in our room was still full of someone else's leftovers, but that's really the only negative about our room!

It's located right by Canal Park and is a great deal for the price. Timber Lodge Steakhouse also shares part of the building, and your stay gets you complimentary coupons for drinks at the restaurant.

The WHOLE hotel smelt musty and old. We were not warned that our room was tiny and there was a gigantic 4 foot wide pillar in the center of out bedroom. Breakfast was okay, but they took the food away 30 minutes early. Served an the job as an average place to sleep. Was not impressed though. Would not stay again

terrible experience
we were in duluth for the july 4th fireworks. when we checked in about 4pm we noticed there was no air conditioning in the lobby and it was sweltering. the front desk assured us the air conditioning would be fixed by the time we returned later that night. it wasn't. at midnight it was about 84 degrees in our room. we later discovered the A/C had been out for two days. After much complaining at the front desk, they found us a room at the Holiday Inn. [...], the Downtown Holiday Inn was great.

Perfect location, close to Lake Superior
We stayed up here for our honeymoon and found this location was great walking distance to Grandma's Resturant( a must), Aquarium, vista fleet, the Bridge. Absolutely stunning and great sleep and very spacious rooms. we even recieved a coupon for Timberlodge for a free Appetizer when we stayed. Breakfast was pretty good, a little early for our liking but we woke up and was well worth the early wake up.

Great hotel in a great location!
My husband and I stayed over night there for our one year anniversary and I tell you the hotel was great. It is right down in the Canal Park area of Duluth and is within walking distance of many shops, restaurants, attractions, and the beautiful lakeshore walk. Our room was amazing, it was huge! It had a very comfortable bed and a nice view of the surronding area, my favorite part was the whirlpool tub, I didn't want to get out! The woman at the front desk was also very nice and helpful, and they have an amazing breakfast! We will definetely be staying there again!
