Mayo visit

We had always stayed next to the Mayo clinic but with our stay being at St Mary's hospital and a bit longer, we wanted to find something for a good value. Although a bit skeptical at first, we were pleasantly surprised. We will definitely stay here again especially if the kids come. The bed was very comfortable and staff was friendly.

My purpose for being in Rochester was to go to the Mayo Clinic everyday. When you arrive in Rochester, ask the Ramada to send their van to pick you up. In the morning and on the return trip in the afternoon, there is a shuttle between Mayo and Ramada. And, all of this is free! The staff members are willing to go beyond the usual if you have special requests and they have a good disposition. Teresa's Restaurant serves a good variety of very good entrees and appetizers, has a full bar, and in the morning gives a free hot breakfast..

The room was so small we had claustriphobia. It was clean tho and that is athe only plus. We had to step up into the bathroom and that is not good for us older people.

The hotel is in a great location, but the rooms were very small and the toilet smelled bad. It is very much a old building that instead of doing major upgrades, they have just made some small things to make it acceptable.

The accomadations were just great. The room was comfortable. the people in charge were friendly and very helpful. I would recommend it to anyone. It was within walking distance of good eating places and a shuttle was available to take us to any of the clinics.

This is a very convenient hotel just accross the street from St. Mary's Hospital. The rooms were very nice with a lot of space. The pool and gym were very small. Only two pieces of equipment in the gym.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn for 1 night while we were in town on family business. It's a good, solid hotel. It's a little bit older, but the rooms are nice and clean and the bedding is comfortable. Desk staff was very friendly. I appreciated that there was always coffee available at the front desk. Breakfast in the morning was nice. The location is good - easy to find when you're coming into town and not far from the mall area and downtown.

I stayed the same place couple years ago and the bad memory(mostly bad customer service, room odor, smoking/non-smoking room did not have clear boundaries to set apart) wouldn't go away easily. Well, long story short, I had to go back to the area for business trip. I didn't have many choices of hotel in the area so I gave it a shot, hoping there would be an improvement of some sort.
I'm glad I gave them a 2nd chance (or gave myself 2nd chance, however you look at it). Entire facility is now smoking free and housekeeping was pretty in good shape. so I was already pleasantly surprised. Linens, matresses, flat screen HD TV, and good water pressure (I stayed on 3rd floor) were also good ~very good experience.
Only downfall was that I asked for toothpaste on 2nd day (one I brought was almost empty), staff says it is "just" all out. so I had to go Walgreen which located less than 1/3mile away.
Breakfast station was just about average, not too terrible or not too fancy - but they had all the basics. If you are not a morning person, I would avoid their staff - they are somewhat 'chatty'. too much for me to handle in the morning but I saw many other visitors enjoying their company.

Resonable and close to Mayo Clinic

The hotel itself was fine once I got into a room. My reservations through [...]were messed up. I requested a non-smoking room and assumed that's what I was getting. I should have read ALL of the description of the room. I chose a king-sized bed and didn't notice the "smoking" part of the description. Weird how it didn't filter out the smoking rooms when I requested Non-smoking. Anyway, the gal who checked me in didn't go over the description...just gave me keys. After treking across the parking lot and up the non-airconditioned elevator in the farthest building from the main buildiing (heat index of 115 that day), I got to the room and discoverd a queen-sized murphy bed. Then I realized why the room was stinky as I noticed all the ash trays. YUCK!!! The room was disgusting! I called the front desk and requested a NON-smoking room. They were nice to oblige my request, but the same gal wouldn't help me. That was fine, but I was charged an extra $14 per night. That was fine, too, but they gave me a two full-sized beds. The beds were okay, the room was clean so I was satisfied for the rest of my stay.

[...] Hate to pay the additional $12.00 parking but all hotels near Mayo are the same as well as parking on your own.I have stayed in two other towns while husband in hospital and both offer discounts for patient's families --- Don't think they that any hotels do that near Mayo

Three night stay for 2 day visit to the Mayo Clinic. Missed not having a resturant in the Hotel for evening meal. Plenty of places were available nearby. This was much better than the hotel where I had to use a shuttle.

I stayed at the DoubleTree for one night and I thought it was a very convenient location and easy to find. The bed and room were very comfortable but a little warm without the ability to lower the temp. The hotel added my Hilton Honors # at time of check-in and upgraded my room. Only downside was that you had to pay for the parking ramp that was attached to the hotel and the Starbucks right outside the hotel was only open til noon (checkout time) on Sunday.

This is a very nice hotel. Very close to good shopping and restaurants. Very nice staff. Highly recommend.

Good for the money

A little out dated, but the bed was comfortable, the room was quiet and worth the money. The shuttle was great, took us right to Mayo for the price of a tip. We would stay there again.

The first thing we did when was check out the indoor pool and jacuzzi. The temperatures were very nice. The week before, we stayed at the Extended Stay in Rochester which was a big disappointment. The pool and fitness rooom we expected was nowhere to be found and the furniture and appliances were very outdated.

Glad it was just for 1 night. Room was in the basement floor. Smelled. Even though it was just a place to "sleep" for the night paying an extra $20 somewhere else would have been better.
This hotel is NOT within walking distance to the Mayo Clinic, unless you want to walk 8-10 blocks!

Well for starters the picture make it look better than it really is. Second orbitz Charged us $85 for the room when I could have gotten it for $63 dollars if I would have just booked through the hotel.

A few disappointments

We were in Rochester for the Mayo clinic. The room was overall clean but it looked like it had recently been painted and a white line of construction dust outlined the rooms where it hadn't been cleaned completely. The airport shuttle wasn't available because the staff said it cost the hotel too much and they discontinued it when they built a hotel closer to the airport. We asked about the internet but it was down the 6 days we were there trying to work between appointments. We asked about a drink machine and they have one--but the clerk said it was all out of pop and they hadn't been able to get anyone back to service it. I asked for a stamp to mail a postcard and the staff said they needed to go get more--they were all out and gave us directions to the post office. The room was large and for a room it was fine--just lacked the special touch that you usually expect at a hotel.

Microtel has always maintained its facilities very well. The rooms are small, but so is the price, but if you need more room they have suites available that have microwaves, refrigerators, and kitchens. You cannot beat the value, especially when you compare it to other lower priced motels and even many of the quality motels.

This hotel was clean and very quiet. The heating unit was quiet, but seemed to make the room hot when it ran and then it cooled off noticeably when it shut off. The television had a rather grainy picture. Breakfast was included and while not elaborate, tasted good and that area was very clean also. I would stay there again. For the money spent, it was not a bad deal at all.

Primary, to see doctors at Mayo Clinic. I would like to have seen some sights around Rochester. But, I had some steak and shrimp at Ron's place and ended up with diarrhea all day and night.

Nice clean rooms.Excellent continental breakfast good variety. Lounge/bar area nice and nice waiting staff. Great burgers. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Did not use pool or workout area but it is there if you need it.

We were in Rochester for medical treatment.
The
Shuttle buses were expecuially appreciated.
THis hotel is just a mile furhter south of the fairground super 8 which has more anmenities at the same rate.

Looks alittle old and rundown but they were do somework when we arrived. The first room they put us in was on the bottom floor and the room spelled on mold and the toilet was broke. We asked for another room and we were given another. July hot in the hallways.
Worst place we stayed on a 10 day motorcycle trip.

Finally found a nice hote

We travel to Rochester several times a year, and have had trouble finding a nice, reasonably priced hotel. This time we tried Country Inn and Suites and were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, the hotel pool was fine, and the breakfast was good. The only thing, and it's minor, is that it is a little out of the way, and we had a little trouble getting to it. But overall, we will stay there again.

Nice staff and nice place overall. It's clean and the price is reasonable. We plan to stay there again. There are other places closer to the clinic, but it's a direct, easy route to get there.

Good hotel for the money.

We stayed there for the Mayo Clinic and also for leisure. The hotel was fine overall; the free breakfast was great. The room wasn't perfect; there was dust on the lamps and fixtures; the sink was chipped and part of the wallpaper in the bathroom was ripped, but this didn't really bother me too much. The hotel was quiet, the bed was comfortable and it was close to restaurants and shopping and there was even a Kwik Trip right across the street which was very convenient; also minutes from downtown Rochester and Apache Mall.

We traveled to Rochester to watch our daughters softball team play for the National Title. The rooms were ok. Beds were really hard and rooms smelled a little musty. Smells were covered up by Fabreze. Rooms were clean and staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was very spacious and well equipped, but it was supposed to be a non-smoking room and you could tell that it had cigarette smoke odor. If you stay here, insist that you DO NOT get a room on the third floor, because that is where the smoking rooms are. There were also three ashtrays in the room - Non-Smoking?????

This place was very clean, had a skeleton crew, but didn't affect its cleanliness and comfort. Great if staying a while because it had a kitchenette. No exercise room, no pool, no breakfast, but quiet, clean and comfortable.
