Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Rochester South, MN

We travel to Rochester several times a year, and have had trouble finding a nice, reasonably priced hotel. This time we tried Country Inn and Suites and were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean, the hotel pool was fine, and the breakfast was good. The only thing, and it's minor, is that it is a little out of the way, and we had a little trouble getting to it. But overall, we will stay there again.

Nice staff and nice place overall. It's clean and the price is reasonable. We plan to stay there again. There are other places closer to the clinic, but it's a direct, easy route to get there.

The hotel was very nice except our room was on the 3rd floor. The 3rd floor hallway reeked of cigarette smoke. Many of the 3rd floor rooms were smoking rooms and some we non smoking. I suspect we got a non smoking room on that floor becasue we booked through a 3rd party site. I suspect if we had booked through Raddisson we would have been placed on a true non smoking floor.

It was a very nice place. The rooms were a nice size. The beds were not very comfortable. Would have been nice to have higher quality sheets. There were a lot of stains on the carpet. The staff was very helpful.

The staff was friendly and helpful. My only real complaint was with the exercise room. Neither the stairmaster or Exercycle were fully operational. All other aspects were good, and it is close to a good sports bar/restaurant.

No surprises, just what we were looking for. Clean and quiet. No pet policy a plus for our allergies. Ordinary reception person but great woman doing the breakfast room.

We were placed in a smoking room, even after making a request at the time of reservation for placement in a non-smoking room. They ignored our requests and didn't make any effort to switch us to a non-smoking room after we complained. The room was not especially clean either. Stains on the floors and chairs and it looked like something had splattered all over the bathroom door. We were quite disappointed with the entire experience.

This hotel was very pleasant. Our non-smoking room was clean and odor free. They could update the TV - the picture was somewhat fuzzy and it was not a flat screen. This hotel is the 1st of 5 stops for the Mayo shuttle. This means a slightly longer ride, but it also means you're assured of getting a seat. Several people at the hotel at the last stop had to stand and it was difficult to fit them all in. The shuttle was right on time. It definitely beats driving yourself!

The guy working at the front desk was great! The room was clean. The exercise room was a little small and the equipment wasn't in great shape, but it worked and I used it. Not a lot of nearby restaurants, but there is one that seems to be really popular and the food was good. The pool area looked clean and inviting, but I forgot my suit.

There are many hotel choices in Rochester, but after are first stay at Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Rochester South MN we have returned twice more. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Check in and check out were a breeze. Breakfast was above average.
