Big City Fees in a Small Town

Hotel is located downtown. There is a charge of $12 to park, but there was only reference to "parking available" when called, not the $12 charge. This charge was applied to parking from 8PM to 9AM, which is excessive. If this was Chicago, I would expect it, but not a small midwestern town. Room was adequate, but needed some cleaning and minor repairs in bathroom.

Perfect for Concert @ Mayo Civic Center

Only bad thing was the noise at night due to being next to elevator which caused me to hear all other guests coming and going throughout the night. Otherwise I had a great stay. Perfect spot for all downtown locactions especially the Mayo Civic Center. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful with t=difference in normal checkout time and my flight departure.

Most of the good resteraunts are well with in walking distance of the hotel. Especially since parking is expensive in downtown Rochester. There is a Red Lobster acroos the street but i recomend either going into the Minnesota University Mall or walking off Broadway street and discovering the many splendid downtown resteraunts.

Great hotel for your visit to Mayo

We were in Rochester for the Mayo Clinic. We chose this hotel because it is linked by skyway to the Mayo buildings. Once you get your bearings and a little help it is very easy to navigate. We could have chosen a hotel that was closer, but we really liked the shops, restaurants, & sites we saw while walking from the hotel to the clinic. All inside, so no weather worries. A shuttle is provided by the hotel to transport you (patient and family) to and from St. Mary's hospital and the other Mayo buildings. All in all everything was great. We had a king size bed and the room had lots of space to move around in and relax. It wasn't advertised as a suite, but it could have been. I got several glimpses of other rooms on our floor (2nd), while they were being cleaned and they were all very roomy.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

The shuttle service was great. It has hourly service from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. My husband had surgery in St. Mary's hospital, so I couldn't catch the shuttle back to the hotel one night, but the cab ride was under $6.00. Parking at the hospital is $12 a day. The continental breakfast was nice to have, so you didn't need to purchase anything for morning. Also the rooms have a small refrigerator and microwave. I recommend stopping at a grocery store as you are coming into town to buy some food & snacks for your lunch & even dinner, although there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance.

Holiday Inn

The hotel was in the skyway system and that is great. It is about 3 blocks from the Mayo clinic. A little far. You walk through the maze of restaurants and shops, that is nice. The top of the tv/dresser was removed. The rest of the room was ok. Old TV. We were supposed to get a couch and got a lounge chair. The food was typical Holiday Inn Express, not exciting. Nothing given for Priority club members.
