My husband booked two smoking rooms as that was the only ones they had available. For a smoking room it was horrible. The smell was unbelievable. The stale smoke smell was choking. I'm a smoker and I couldn't handle it. I said something to the gal who was working up front and she moved us to a different set of rooms. She was wonderful, really trying to help us out within the limit of what she could do. Any interaction with the staff was awesome! Absolutely NO complaints there. The rooms were not dirty by any means, they were actually very clean, but they need to address the overwhelming smoke smell.

The beds were ok. Cleanliness was not there. We found Doritos in the heater, frosting and sprinkles on the counter by the coffee pot, and the table was greasy.

Excellent facility. Really perfect if you are a business traveler staying for a few days. Beware if you are taking pets - they charge a $50 Pet Charge and it's whether you are staying one night or 20. We stayed only one night so it made our stay very spendy. [...] Otherwise absolutley excellent place to stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Contineal Breakfast was good. Rooms were very nice. Would highly recommend

I had a great time in the room with my partner. We had a very nice night it was quite within the hotel room. However we must of picked a bad weekend for it was very noisy outside with drunks. It has a great location near downtown and yet a good distance that it is not right on top of a bar. However some very loud drunk made it right outside the apartment and was noisy for a good hour and made it impossible to sleep.

The pool was out of towels, wen we asked for more they brought so few that they were all gone in an hour. The kidzone games were nasty fair type crane games, that kids want to play but they can never win. The crane game that you played until you could win and get candy the crane was broken so it couldn't get the candy over the wall to the area you could grab the candy. The kids were frustrated. I was disappointed that the games were not more kid oriented.
Our room was very small. But the bed was comfortable.

The front desk were very helpful and well informed about the rooms. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best we had on our three week trip. Pool was very small. Good location within two block walk of the Granite City Brew Pub for those who like pub grub and fresh beer but don't feel like getting in the car again after a long days drive.

Although advertiused as a non-smoking hotel with newly remodeled rooms, my room reeked of years of smoke in the walls and old carpet as soon as I opened the door. There was little lighting and at least one switch didn't work. I did not ask to move as I needed a 1st floor room in a building with no elevator and the desk clerk told me that this was the last. What furniture there was did not fit the space and the TV was facing out the window when I entered the room. It was heavy to turn to a more convenient spot. The desk chair was adequate, but not comfortable for relaxing.
There was an aged jacuzzi tub which had no hand holds to get in or out - they had been broken at some point in time and not replaced. This made a nice sized shower space, but the bottom was slippery and treacherous once wet.
The cleaning staff did a good job each day, but left the lights and TV on when finished.

We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the room. We were there for our anniversary weekend and got the room right next to the pool, elevators, and ice machine just off the lobby. There was way too much noise from the other guests & the parents that were drinking outside the pool area while watching thier children through the window & door of the pool area. Way too noisy and although it is the parent's responsibility to be accountable for thier children, I do feel that at some point the hotel staff should have stepped in to remind them not to let the kids run all over the hotel screaming. We were woke on Sunday at 5:50am by this and it was just a cap to a very long weekend of no sleep. The only peace was after 11pm when the pool closed. In a desperate attempt at sleep I resorted to toilet paper in my ears. Upon checking out I was told that I should have called the front desk to complain, which by the way was 10 feet from our door. Pretty sure that they heard all of the racket too without me having to call them & tell them.

As an independent cotractor who travels a lot I look for lodging that is comfortable and affordable. The Travelodge fits that bill. A small but clean room with good wi-fi service. An in-room coffee maker that worked perfectly and continental breakfast that was fine. Very helpful staff from beginning to end. I will stay here again when doing business in St. Cloud.

The person at the reception desk, Danielle, was very helpful despite our arriving after 11 p.m. The rooms were fine, and the continental breakfast was satisfactory, too. It would have been nice to have an elevator to the second floor rooms. The building design, with the "wavy," narrow hallways, was somewhat confusing. I would book a room here again if I needed a stop-over place for the night.

somehow I accidentally clicked for the wrong month. They were very gracious to change the date and not charge me for it. It was a busy weekend in St. Cloud and I was thankful to get a room. We had a king bed and it was lovely.

the good, the bad, the ugly

The good: my 3 yr. old granddaughter loved the water slide.
The bad: Light was flashing on phone and when I called desk to see why, they just stated they didn't know.
Sat down in chair and fell over, the wheel flew out, put it back only to notice it was split so would not stay in. Called desk, they said they would tell maintence, no one showed up with new chair.
Couldn't use computer at desk - no outlet.
The Ugly: bathroom ceiling above tub had black mold. Heater vent was gross, don't know when last cleaned.
the kiddy pool and hottub were dirty and had sand in them, big pool didn't look much better. There was a big sign saying waterslide would be closed 10 minutes before each hour - we were there for 3 hrs. and never was closed.

We stayed here for a basketball tournament with our kids. Only 1 day before we left, we read the horrible reviews. We tried to find different accomidations-but there wasn't a room left in all of St. Cloud. So, we went & crossed our fingers. It was fine. The hotel is nothing special, lower your expectations and you'll be fine. My largest complaint was the smell of smoke. This hotel hosts smoking rooms & you can tell immediately when you walk in.

My husband and I wanted a night away in St. Cloud as we have friends and family there. We booked through [...], which the staff at the desk didn't seem to understand. It would've been funny if it wasn't so frustrating. Then I was informed that the only room available is their "dark room." Meaning someone really screwed up in building this hotel and built a wall literally two feet from the window thus making the room dark. The pool area was disappointing, very small, the hot tub is the smallest I've ever seen in a hotel. It was clean and the staff were friendly, just not very knowledgeable about booking via the internet. When I was told about the dark room I asked if they could discount the room and she literally said, "Well, there isn't much to see in this location anyways..." and left me hanging. To make matters worse it was very noisy ALL NIGHT LONG. I can't fault the staff for that, but had I not already been frustrated it wouldn't have mattered as much.Would I stay here again? NO! Had they offered me a reduced rate for the dark room or not said something so incredibly stupid then maybe I would consider it.

The employees cleaning the rooms were really sweet & friendly & could tell they love their job!!

The hotel is some distance from any real shopping areas but that is offset by it's location close to the Interstate. I rated it a 4 instead of a 5 due to the smallness of the breakfast area(specially when a busload of senior citizens are all trying to eat at the same time as you).

Ask for a non smoking room. We have stayed at this hotel once a year for an event in the area. The rooms are clean, the hot tub and pool is great the beds need updating but for the price it is a good value.
