ESA Columbia.....

We Stayed on the 3rd floor and it was good .... The elevator worked great... The woman at the front desk when we checked in was really nice and helpful.. Their vending and all was really well stocked... It woulda got 5 stars from me except the bed was a little hard.... My daughter loved it though...Its well located directly across the highway from the mall and several restraunts and stores....They even accomodated my Harley (family dog)....Overall it was a great motel to stay in and we would stay there again...

hotel stay

I had a reservation for 5 nights and only stayed 1 night as the room had ants and bugs, the air conditioned was not working properly and the smell of smoke was sickening. We checked out early morning and booked into another motel which was a better experience. I would rate this hotel as the worst I have stayed in and needless, to say would not rebook!!!

Deceptive location, disappointing room

Room not anywhere close to Mizzou campus or stadium. The room type we reserved was not available. The beds were awful. The mattress was hard, creaky and dirty. This hotel was our last option to get a room. We would have never stayed here if we had choices. The front desk staff was friendly and polite.

Even though the hotel says "Stadium Drive" it is not close to stadium area on Mizzou campus.

Busy weekend make it hard to accommodat

The hotels location is no more than 50 yards away from the always busy I-70, so if you are unfortunate enough to get a room facing the highway, you have to deal with traffic, and semi-trucks using their air-breaks. My second issue was all they had available was a handicap room, which would have been fine but the only shower head is set to waist high, where if there where the option for another shower head it would have made life a lot better. The staff did what they could to make the stay enjoyable, and the complimentary newspaper was a nice touch.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

There is either a Wal-Mart, or a Gerbes Grocery store with in a 10 min drive, buying food and other trip necessities there and stocking your room, can save you a ton rather than eating out at pricey hard to get to chain restaurants in the area.

I did NOT feel safe there

We were there two nights. The first night was okay, but when I went to shower the next morning, the "pull" to make it switch from bath to shower wouldn't move. We had to call the Front Desk. A lady came with a wrench and broke it. She gave us another room. We had to pack all our stuff up again (very inconvenient...we were trying to get to a brunch and this caused us to be late). BUT, that evening around 1:30am, we were woken up by screaming banging, BARKING, doors slamming, etc in the room next door. I called the Front desk to complain and was told to stay in my room with the door shut, the Police were there with the Canine Unit, raiding the room next door!!!!! IT WAS HORRIBLE!!! This went on until 2:45am. We didn't get much sleep and we had to drive home the next morning. The Hotel didn't even apologize or offer us anything. I wouldn't go back there for free!!

Smells like used cigarettes

We requested a non-smoking room through [...]. When we arrived, we were told we had requested a smoking room (which we didn't). They said they were booked and there was nothing they could do for us. When I showed them we HAD requested non-smoking, they told me they didn't receive it and it didn't matter anyway because they only honor these requests if they can. I asked if they could switch us with someone else's non-smoking room that hadn't arrived yet, if that was in fact the case. I was then told those rooms were already assigned and couldn't be moved. I don't know why they then told me that third party booking sites were given last priority for their requests because it's a value price, so they give people that booked through their hotel site preferences ahead of us. She also told me I wasn't on "the list" of people they expected to have issues with regarding smoking rooms, which meant they booked a bunch of people that wanted non-smoking into smoking rooms and expected issues. As we left later in the evening, we heard other people having the same issues with smelly smoking rooms. Even when I advised them I would call [...] and their HQ to discuss this, they just shrugged their shoulders and said go ahead. The room smelled horribly (I actually woke up at 4 in the morning because of the smell). This was with two deodorizers hooked up to the A/C and with all the windows open. We had to go to Target the next day and buy Febreze and an odor neurtalizer, which only helped minimally. Our mouths tasted like cigarettes every morning and our clothes reeked. You could even smell the smoke in the shower, so you never felt like you were getting clean. The manager and staff were so uncaring, when we checked out the front desk didn't even ask how our stay was. I've never been at a hotel where that happened. I'm sure they know the answer would be a complaint, so why bother. After we checked in, we asked for new bedspreads at least because of the smell. The manager just went behind the counter and handed it over for us to do it ourselves. I will never stay at this chain of hotels again. After the stay, I had another friend of mine who travels a lot tell me she's stayed at this chain twice and had horrible time on both occasions. The first time her bed had a huge blood stain on it and they refused to change her rooms. The second time her room was just gross and she moved out the next day. To top it all, they charge the same as other hotels but don't even refresh the room, check to see if you need towels, or empty the trash. If there was another hotel available within an hour drive, we would have paid extra to get out of this place. I checked and everything was booked, or we would have gladly paid to get out of this smelly and unfriendly hotel. The beds were also hard as a rock.Lucky for us we checked in on Friday, as I heard the front desk girl saying they were overbooked for Saturday, which meant they were "walking" a bunch of people with no vacancies anywhere in town. Stay here at your own risk.

extended stay - not the best

First room was a smoking room that had not been cleaned, dirty dishes, sheets and the like. Second room was better but stunk. We stuck with this room because.Everything else was a smoking room.
