Residence Inn by Marriott Kansas City Downtown/Union Hill

Other reviews had mentioned that this hotel was dated, however we found that it was quite nice and up to the standards of other Residence Inns that we have been to. The staff was outstanding- Tammie and the rest of the front desk staff and in fact every person we met, were super friendly and helpful. This hotel was really convenient for our visit to UMKC, and was close to the Plaza as well as the Crown Center.

You could tell that this was an older Residence Inn. Its due for a remodel.

It was average nothing stood out. Even though I am Platinum I wasn't offered any upgrades or special services like I usually am at other Marriott locations.

This past year as we travelled we stayed at Residence Inn or Towne Place. This specific facility was very different!! Meaning it was not well taken care, tripping over shredding carpet between vinyl and carpet, a snake of about 12 inch was living behind our bed in 5 or 10 degrees below zero outside for the first and second nights we were there. We were there for a conference and we got back to our room after midnight most nights. At 3 am we saw the snake, move us to a smaller room left us there with a full size bed instead of king size bed that we paid for, even after the 1st of Jan. as our check out date was Jan 4. No place to park,was told to park in no parking zone. Landry room door taped open so no key was necessary, if I had been alone I would not have used the landry room after dark!! Manager was not accomodating as customer service should have been!!!
