Warm & Welcoming
We arrived a bit pass midnight and were met with a big, happy smile from the night desk clerk. And things just got better. They all were warm, very accommodating and even helped us with getting a recipe on line. We only wished that we could have spent more AT the hotel. We even got a big smile and THANK YOU at 4:45am when we had to leave. We would definitely recommend the Express to all travelers.

Unimpressive
The hotel was clean-enough but lacked a pool. Upon our approach, we discovered that the facility is currently undergoing some construction. Being a weekend, there was no activity and so, no noise. We traveled as a family, including mom, dad, grandma, and our four autistic kids. During check-in, we explained that the hotel might be best-served by placing us far away from any other guest rooms, since there were plenty of rooms available. We were placed in rooms across from each other and right next to the elevator. I was unimpressed with the loyalty program, as well, though this is not this hotel's fault: the "reward" for being a loyalty program member was the opportunity to choose a complementary candy bar from the basket under the check-in counter. During our stay, we were unable to avail ourselves of a bottle opener--the clerk seemed unsure what a bottle opener was. Television choices were extremely limited, seeming to be mostly wrestling and sports. Heating/cooling worked but were very noisy. The single elevator was very, very slow and the stairs inconveniently located. In the morning, the housekeeping staff was not only very noisy but we were able to hear them complaining about one of their team mates. On the positive side, the offered breakfast was pretty extensive for what was billed as a continental breakfast. We will likely avoid this hotel, should we have future stays in the Missoula area.

Wonderful and Friendly
This is the best hotel in Missoula. It is within walking distance to the university and the riverfront trails. It is very clean, spacious, and modern. There are fresh HUGE cookies in the afternoon, an incredible free breakfast in the morning and the nicest front desk person you could ask for! Any downtown hotel will have the train noise, but that is the only reason I couldn't give it a perfect 5.

Nice hotel on River/great location
Great service. This is a nice hotel. Although it is close to the freeway, is on the fork river which makes it special. It is is worth it to spend more money to get a room facing the river. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Good place to stay
This is our fourth stay at the Holiday Inn Express Riverside in Missoula. The hotel is clean, well-located with very friendly and helpful staff. There is a complimentary breakfast which is very good. We stay in the two-room suite which is quite comfortable. The hotel is a short walk to the University campus and a very quick drive (or longer walk) to downtown.
