La Quinta Inn & Suites Charlotte Airport South

The location is great, 5mins south of downtown Charlotte and if you have a rental car there is a gas station right across the street. The staff was great and answered any questions we had with a smile. The room was large and kept every clean-housekeeping was great! We never felt rushes to get out of the room so they could clean. The only downside was the pool and hot tub. I had called the beginning of May to ask if the outdoor pool and hot tub would be open and I was told yes, it was opening the week BEFORE we would arrive. Well my husband and I get there, packed bathing suits, ready to relax by the pool or take a dip in the hot tub. It was CLOSED! It didn't open until the weekend AFTER we left. I wouldn't mind, but we were told it was going to be open so we were ready to relax a bit. We tried to go next door to the Embassy Suits and asked to use their indoor pool. They were very nice, but said they were at their max guest number and couldn't have the liability which we completely understood. Overall it was a good hotel. I'm an animal lover so I loved seeing the dogs and cats people had with them since La Quinta allows animals. We never heard a bark or anything in the hotel so the pet policy is great.

I had a king room--great layout with excellent work desk, small couch w/ coffee table, comfortable bed and lots of pillows. The room has an ingenious arrangement for the microwave/coffee maker/fridge setup that got it out of the sleeping area and out of sight. Good staff, well kept facilities and grounds and just far enough from airport. Now if they could just do something about the blah breakfast....

The staff was outstanding. Very courteous and helpful. We didn't get a late room cleaning as requested next day otherwise room was very clean on arrival. Excellent breakfast, great location and terrific value.

I arranged this hotel for a conference travel to Charlotte. The location was very convenient for me, but I am not satisfied with the cleanliness of the hotel/room in general.

This LaQuinta is well run - the staff makes an effort to be cheerful, friendly and helpful; the room was extremely clean, well furnished, spacious and quiet with a desk and chair for doing "homework" and wireless internet at no extra cost. The breakfast bar had the normal bagels, toast, hard-cooked eggs, cereal and waffles. The coffee was flavorful and hot, it didn't run out while I was there. Downtown is a 14 minute drive, straight up So. Tryon Street. For less than half the cost of the big downtown hotels, this is a great value.

When entering our room at 11:30 pm there was bagged trash just inside the door. I thought the staff forgot to pick it up on their way out. I took a few more steps and realized that someone was already staying in the room or the staff hadn't finished cleaning. We called downstairs and they were embrassed; we were directed to a different room. This room was clean and pleasant. The only other complaints I have were the other guests. Slamming doors isn't necessary and making plans for the next day at 3:00 am in the hallway isn't necessary either. I never did get a good nights sleep thanks to Frank and his buddy. I never did make out his buddy's name but I hope they had a good time.

I have stayed at this facility before and I am impressed with the remodeling that they have been doing. I think the fresh paint, new carpet, and remodeled continental breakfast room was great. The front desk staff were very helpful during my stay and the cleaning gals were great to deal with each day. I have always thought that this place was well located for anyone who needs a place to stay that is well situated to places of interest or just business downtown. I have always enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it to anyone.

Room was very comfortable, and the staff was excellent. Only comment was that there was a wooden molding around the ceiling that had a 1/8 inch of dust build-up. I first thought that I was seeing a shadow, but when I reached up and wiped it with my finger it was dark dust. Maybe every month or two could use a wipe down. Could be a problem for someone with allergies.
