Nightmare !!!
This place was horrible ! All we wanted was a clean place to stay while we visited our college age son. We get there & there was a crowd checking in. One lady checked in, got her bags and went to her room. She was back very soon because the key card wouldn't open the door. THey quickly gave her another key card. Then she was back again! This time she stated that there was someone else's belongings in the room. Another guest spoke up and said there was someone else's things in his room too !!! The carpets are all soiled and worn. The bedding looks like it is literally 20 yrs old ! The doors into the rooms are a very light-weight wood. No security there! A teenager could kick their way in. The furniture was all very cheap particle board furniture. The only thing in the room that looked like it had been serviced or replaced in the last decade was the nice flat screen tv. The smoke detector was laying on the counter top of the dresser with a battery, It stayed right there for our whole visit. Not like the service staff walked off & forgot it. The next day when they cleaned the room, the smoke detector stayed right where it was ! We paid $100.00 a night for this dump! $30.00 a night would have been too much! The staff were pleasant, but obviously the owner can't bother to invest a nickel in his property ! The location was not the bad part of town, but it sure wasn't the upscale part of town either !!! I would stay there again only if every room for a 50 mile radius was booked !!! In other words, it won't happen !!!

Good Stay
This is the third time I've stayed at this hotel. First, and foremost, I have found the staff to be the best I've seen out of all my different hotel experiences. Each visit I've been greeted with a friendly face for my quick check in and I can't remember one stay where staff hasn't been the first to greet me in the morning and to make pleasant conversation. With children, the draw for us was the 24 hour pool. The pool did have some issues with too much chlorine, but I've found that to be the case at many hotels. Still, an issue they might want to look into. The rooms are great for us. We stay in the queen rooms, with two beds, and a pull out couch. With the nearby Hy-Vee (less than a block away) the in room refrigerator and microwave come in handy for us. I've always found the rooms to be clean. We did have an issue with the tub drain not lowering to take a bath, but I just stuffed a wash cloth around it and it was fine. There's no doubt had I contacted the front desk, they would have fixed the problem. It just wasn't that big of a deal to me. The hotel appeared to be full two of our stays, and I had no problem with any noise. I saw a comment about the breakfast, and I have to say, in comparison to other hotels I've stayed at, I love their offerings. The hours are longer than most hotels (it went until noon on the Sunday morning we were there) and all the kids are able to find something they like. There were juices, coffee, rolls, muffins, english muffins, several kinds of bagels, oatmeal, teas, milk, several different kinds of cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, pancakes and waffles (the frozen toaster kind), hard boiled eggs, and biscuits with sausage and gravy. (At least, that's all I can remember.) We did have an issue with one of the key cards being a little touchy, but we had two cards and the other worked fine, so again, I didn't make an issue of it. On our other stays, we've had no problem with them at all. Overall, for the price I'm very happy with this hotel. In fact, it's the only hotel we stay at now when we're in Lincoln. As a side note, I did hear several people on this stay, mention that they were unable to get smoking rooms, or were told they were getting a smoking room, but then did not. The hotel might want to look into getting rid of them all, or dedicating a few more rooms to smoking. Personally, we had a first floor room near one of the end doors, so it wasn't a big deal for me to go a few steps to go outside. I could, however, see how someone would be frustrated with being told that they were getting a smoking room, only to find out they weren't. I have, and will continue, to recommend this hotel to my family and friends.

Great stay
Rooms very nice. Large and comfortable. We found the breakfast to be less than we expected. Hot entry was only biscuits and gravy. Nothing for the family that doesn't like that.

Great hotel for the price
This hotel had clean rooms, a variety at breakfast and nice tvs. I do think the location may be a downfall for this hotel since it is next to two busy streets. Overall I thought this was a great hotel especially for a reasonable cost.

[...] We were put into a room on the 3rd floor. It was clean and looked up to date. However we found the room had 2 plugged drains. One was fixed right away, we didn't find that the tub drain was plugged until the next morning. We returned to the hotel 2 nights later on our way out of Lincoln. We were put in a room on the 2nd floor. It was not as nice, everything had a worn look. It was almost as if we were in a different hotel! I wouldn't give this hotel more than 2 stars because you wouldn't know if you were getting a 3 star room or a 2 star room. Too bad because the staff was pleasant.

There are a couple of nice restaurants downtown. The hotel is located near a shopping center if that is what you are looking for. It was fine as a place to stay but you wouldn't want to hang out there.

New Victorian Suites
I was looking for the best value in a given location. I read the reviews and stuff like keys that don't work and suites that are too small, along with complaints that hot tubs are not installed in all the suites is not something I am really interested in! What are hotels for? Sleeping would be my first guess! The rooms are clean and include a fold out couch, chair, table, WiFi and a 42 inch TV. During our two nights at Victorian we had athletic teams and numerous families with children sharing rooms on the same floor. I did not find the noise to be anything more than you would expect at a $130.00 per night competitor. The housekeeping staff is very gracious and more than helpful and I found the rest of the staff to be just as congenial and anxious to please. We had one room key that did not work on the second day, but it only takes about 30 seconds for the desk clerk to make another one. The key issue is hardly an incident that would convince me not to stay there again. The location is 5 minutes from NU and there are restaurants, a grocery store and coffee shops within walking distance. Breakfast was comparable to most hotel freebies, nothing special, but certainly adequate for the traveler who wants to get going and not have to stop at a restaurant on the way. I would definitely stay there again and maybe next time I will take Quigley, our Border Collie! The hotel is not only people friendly, but pet friendly too. If your looking for value it's a great place! If your the pampered spa type, maybe you should look somewhere else!
