Road Trip
I was driving across country and for a one night stay it was great. The hotel is less than a mile off of the freeway and there are quick food options close by. For a fairly cheap rate it is hard to complain about anything.

the bad the bad & the bad
well to start with we could have gotten the room for 2 nights when we got there for 50.00 less than what we paid for it through orbits. then we had a upstairs room that was very outdated and had previously been smoked in and we had to be up at 5:30 in morning sat. & sun morn and we listened to kids playing music and running up and down the coridor until 1:00 a.m. will call myself next time instead of using website and not stay there again

The good, te bad and the really ugly
Forced to stay on the 2nd floor, no working A/C in the room. Moved to the room next door and it wasn't much better. VERY HOT all night. We would never stay there again. Water in shower wouldn't turn off.

Don't go here
[...]The pool was in a small, loud, dirty room. It was a small pool that didn't look clean. There was nothing pleasant about it. I travel with kids. A pool is of the highest priority for how we choose a hotel. As far as that goes, this was a bust. The room seemed fine until we checked under the beds in our double check to make sure we left nothing behind. Apparently they don't clean under them because there were wrappers and junk that wasn't ours there.

The GRIM REAPER
Hideous and Painfully Exhausting
The room smelled putrid, the toilet leaked, the bed sheets were stained, the pool looked like something from THREE MILE ISLAND. The greenish apperance of the pool along with the mold and algae growing in it, was not very welcoming and seemed very unsanitary. The breakfast which was advertised and promoted as starting at 6AM, was not even STARTED being prepared until 6:30AM; we didn't stay around for the extra hour it was going to take to complete the CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST. The odor from the hallway was over-powering in the nauseating sense. Other than those multiple MAJOR Infractions, our stay was tolerable.

Long walk from hotel
Avoid this Hotel at all cost. The BATES Hotel from the movie PSYCHO had better accomodations than this one. We will NEVER, EVER, stay at this RODEWAY OR ANY RODEWAY CHAIN AGAIN, unless major repariations are granted and extended to our family. We just pray no one will suffer any long-term damages from staying here

get what you pay for
when we arrived in our room, it had a bad odor to it...then the kids wanted to swim since we had been in the car for 7 hours that day...when we got there, the pool was small and green...not clean at all...i didn't even let my kids swim, it was that gross!!! in the hotel room, our kids took off their shoes to relax and they were laying on the beds and i noticed their feet were dirty...that's how dirty the carpet was in our room!!! GROSS!!!

Enjoyed the stay
Very nice staff, nice rooms. Clean and very easy to get to off the interstate. Breakfast was a bit crowded, but tasty.

A quiet place to stay
The Howard Johnson is a wonderfully quiet place to stay. On our two visits we have had absolutely no problem with noisy neighbors. The room was comfortable and the hotel was close to shopping and entertainment. This is definitely the hotel of choice when we visit North Platte.

With both the mall and Wal*Mart within a short walking distance there's always plenty of places to shop. Also the mall has a theater for entertainment. With that and the hotel's pool the kids can be kept entertained.
