North Platte Country Inn

Avoid this hotel unless you're a hobo. The bed sheets were clearly not changed. Half pillows were covered with large yellow stains after removing the cases. One of the towels had half-football-sized black stain. We didn't even take the showers as the tub was dirty. The hotel had a rating of 10/10 when I booked it?!

I read one review (obviously from the owner) that the place was clean. Non smoking room, but could still smell smoke. The bedding, carpet and fixtures remained from when it was smoking allowed. The towels were great for back scratchers, even though they were tattered. The toilet seat had a broken hinge and didn't shut off well. The lenoleum floor in the bathroom was loose next to the tub. The sink was badly stained. The carpet was worn and buckling. The bathroom size was average (by European standards). I don't believe the swimming pool has worked in years. The air conditioner was old and loud. I noticed a place a couple of blocks away that looked much nicer, had more ammenities and was cheaper. I should have just gone there.

I made a reservation here because it was the only place available [...] in the North Platte location. Absolutely the worst place I have ever stayed in years of weekly travel. Filthy, filthy room including the sheets, peeling paint, AC & heat unit was shut off and it was about 50 degrees in the room. The non-smoking room smelled of smoke and mold. Cigarette burns, large stains, filth path in worn out carpet. Tile in bathroom was destroyed, bathtub had soap scum all over it. The vanity sink faucet was almost inoperable. TV remote didn't work. Staff was staying in one of the units and place was completely dark when I drove up. I had to knock on their unit door to get someone to check me in. Woman complained I was only the second person for the night. In a town with all places full for the night, this tells you something. After seeing the room, I called the front desk and no one answered. [...] The was my worst experience I have ever had in a hotel. I should have slept in my car.

The bed linens were dirty, the sheets were thread bare and stained, the pillows should have been thrown away. The manager was very rude when we tried to explain why we felt we could not sleep in the dirty beds. He said we should go to a Hyaitt. I have never seen such disgusting bed linens in a hotel room. The manager refused to refund our money, we had to call [...] for help. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The Country Inn, North Platte, NE was clean and comfortable with a great husband/wife staff. The room was decorated in a '70's style but was very clean. The pool was drained and I assumed was being cleaned at the time of my stay. The bathroom was separate from the vanity area and there was a sink with a closet in the other area. The room had a refrigerator and microwave which made it convient while traveling with my disabled daughter. The location was at the end of the main drag of the town but close to everything we needed.
