You must be kidding! This is not a 3 star property. If I ever saw a one star this is it. As we entered the front door, we passed 3 construction worker occupants having a smoke. I presented the lady at the desk my Orbitz reservations. She asked for my credit card and swiped it for a fee of $62.50. I told her again, it was paid, she went for help. Another woman cancelled our payment. The bad part was that we had paid Orbitz on a 50% off special, $82.50 for this one star room. I could go on about the charactors who hung out here and the male room cleaner who had the appearance of sleeping in a car . The lady who charged our account for the money said that we should always book thru the front desk, not Orbitz as it cost more. You owe us $20.00 for the over price and the property a new rating of 1 star. If a typical 3 star room has soap that is 1" in width by 1 1/2 inch long and about 1/32nd of an inch in depth, then this place makes it. I saved the soap.

What a gem!
Oak Tree Inn and Penny's Diner were the bomb. We were greeted pleasantly and quickly. The room was clean, comfy and big. The bath towels were so small neither my husband and I could get them all the way around us and we are not big people. The entire building is smoke free! The free breakfast was awesome and we had dinner at Penny's as well. Great food, music and prices. Would recommend to anyone planning to stop near North Platte, NE.

A little disappointed in this hotel
I read many reviews that indicated the rooms were dark and quiet. They were dark as indicated, but all night long I heard the footsteps and other noises from the floor above. I was on the first floor, and at first I thought the noise was coming from the room directly above me, but I believe it was coming from numerous locations on the second floor. In addition, we received an unrequested wake up call at 6:30 AM. The breakfast was ok, but we had to spend an extra $11.00 to get the full breakfast we desired.

Nice hotel, would stay again

Nice hotel for the money.
Nice hotel for the money, plus you got a free breakfast at the diner next door. My food was ready in 5 minutes. I was in and out. I would definitely stay here again. Had a ffidge and microwave in the room.

Great place to stay.
The staff was great. Room was clean and quiet. Location is easily accessible from I80 and Penny's Diner is a nostalgic treat with great food.

Fantastic Find!
This was a quick overnight stop to break-up a long road trip. The room was very clean. It was great to have a microwave and refrigerator and the breakfast at the diner was fabulous. My five year old was disappointed that we were not stopping on the way home.
