Getting better, not the nightmare as others' reviewed
The Ramada Omaha is under ongoing renovations as of early May 2012. Stayed in the tower section's 2nd floor. Room was fully renovated and smelled like it was freshly painted. That particular room had a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and flat screen tv. Check-in was a breeze. Courteous front-desk personnel. Although with the renovations, there was no direct path within the hotel from the front desk to the tower. Had to either walk or drive outside to get to the room. Construction was still continuing and parts of their driveway needs paving. Their restaurant was opened for limited hours but didn't try it. The Coco Key section was also in operation when I stayed there. The western part of the Ramada is closed off and I could see the rooms being redone from the outside windows. After reading the recent bad reviews of this place, I was reluctant to stay. Couldn't book another location because the Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting took most of Omaha's room availability so I stuck with the Ramada. I was pleasantly surprised how my stay turned out. My stay was good though not perfect. When the renovations are complete, the access problems should go away and I would not hestitate to book here again.

Not many places to eat within walking distance but there are three options: Burger King, Perkins, and Spezia.

won't stay here again
Due to the construction, there were no signs on the walls to help guests find ice, room numbers, etc.; outside doors were open all the time, no close parking was available; the elevator had no ceiling; the room had no clock or chair; the hall was not air conditioned and I never received my wake up call. Also, I spent between 20 to 30 minutes trying to get the front desk to answer the phone so another guest who was locked out of her room could be helped. For the money this hotel is a poor choice.

Momma not picky
disappointed
The water park did not come with the room....even though it was advertised as such. I rented 2 rooms, and both were filthy. We showed up in the middle of renovations, and the staff was seated behind card tables in the front lobby. We also picked the hotel because they advertise a lounge and dining area, neither were available. The hotel WAS DATED, no wonder you need millions of dollars of renovations. Find a better manager, staff, and a new interior designer.

thought we found a bargain.....wrong
We purchased a package deal to take our granddaughter to Omaha. tTis hotel is subpar. It is not clean, the food is horrible and the waterpark is dreary. We were extremely disappointed. I am even more disappointed that Ramada doesn't seem to care. We never used the waterpark, we never used the arcade. The food was very high priced and I would put money on none of it is prepared in the hotel, I would guess frozen. The staff is very indifferent. Not a pleasant experience. We won't go back.

The air conditioning did not keep the room very cool. The bathroom ceiling leaked and my husband had to fix the toilet. They were very nice about getting a different room the next morning though.

Nice quick getaway
My wife and I wanted a comfortable room close to restaurants and other fun spots and that's what we got. We had a plumbing issue with a toilet that wouldn't stop running, but we were moved to a close by room and UPGRADED...pleasantly surprised. There was also some missing communication between the night and morning staff, but each time help was requested they made sure that their solution was up to our satisfaction.

family 2 night trip
Omaha zoo trip. I would say the hotel met expectation. It was a nice pool with water that was bath water temperature. No joke. I did call the front desk twice and noone answered which was a bit frustrating. The cleaning lady knock on our door at 7:30 A.M. and to see if we check out. Kids were still asleep! Good location. Front desk help when checking in was fast.

it was ok
Rooms and bathrooms are very small. The whole hotel was hot and musky. Smelled like mold, found mold on the bathroom ceiling. Was very upset the our room didn't come with a discount to the waterpark and for two small children and two adults for being there for 3 hours was very expensive. But it was fun but they should least discounted the kids 2 and up is 15 dollars a ticket. Lame! I would go to the park but stay somewhere else.
