The Valley Inn is an OK place to stay if you don't mind paying through the nose. Though fine, all in all, it's extremely pricey for the quality of the place. The rooms are nothing special, the bathrooms minuscule. The walls/floors et cetera are
paper thin. There's no pool access during the winter (if you care) but they do give you complementary passes to one at the Waterville Valley athletic club. It required driving and was fairly run down, there was a big weight room though. Plus side: the hotel lobby was nice and it's close to the center of the village (a few shops) and a short drive to Waterville Valley. You're paying to stay close to the mountain and there's really no other reason to be there in the winter. There are a few other hotel options in town, all fairly similar. Next time I would consider staying further out and driving.

Convenient
The hotel was nice, for what we wanted - just a place to stay close to skiing. We got the room half price, so it really was a great deal. It's a pretty standard hotel room, pretty roomy, but you could tell it's not brand new. It was very close
to the town center and skiing, though, and staff was very friendly.
