Freshly remodeled room - extrememly nice staff. Minute away from PATH train that takes you into NY

Good hotel, good location, good value. New building in a plesant neighborhood.

Outstanding! We were in a hunt for a location ideally situated within minutes of New York City, and this hotel is located within a one minute walk to the PATH train which goes to the WTC site. From there you are only steps to other subways or cabs. The hotel itself was very pleasant, with a staff to match. Courteous and attentive, the rooms were very clean and quiet with everything one needs. We stayed on 10th floor (our favorite) and the second floor (hallways smelled like cigarette smoke, even though this is a totally smoke free hotel), but room was not affected by the smell. Overall, we will stay here again if visiting New York because the price is right for the convenience.

Excellent! We couldn't have made a better choice for the value. Located directly next to the Newport PATH station, we were withing 7 minutes travel time to WTC. Staff was friendly and very, very helpful. Rooms were very clean and everything was great. We will definitely stay here again.

OK for visiting Manhattan, if you are coming back in the late afternoon also some restaurants and a big mall are available just outside the Hotel.

Our first evening was in a deluxe king room (1006) which garnered our outstanding comments. Deluxe King room wasn't available for our second night, so we had to switch to a Standard King room (220). Much to our dismay, room 220 was a disappointment compared to 1006. When we exited the elevators for the second floor, we were immediately overcome by the odor of cigarette smoke in the halls. Luckily the room did not smell like this. The staff was terrific throughout our stay, especially Deepali at the front desk who accommodated our room change smoothly without us having to leave our luggage in limbo for three or four hours. One of the Valets was also extremely helpful as was a bellman? who took our luggage down for us. Overall, we are sold on Courtyard by Marriott and will definitely be staying at your hotels more frequently.

Whenever I visit NYC, I stay in midtown - but this time the hotel prices were even higher than usual, so I looked farther afield. Out of the many hotels in the Jersey City - Weehawken - North Bergen area that I researched, this one seemed to be our best bet - and it worked out very well indeed. My husband, adult daughter and I arrived a few hours before check-in, but our room was ready. It was spacious and clean with two queen-sized beds and a sleeper sofa. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. We dumped our luggage in the room and walked right next door to the PATH station. Within 15 minutes we were in midtown and ready to start our day. Proximity to the PATH station was probably the biggest benefit of our stay. PATH trains run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Other hotels were cheaper, but we would have had to take a bus into the city, with limited hours, and in some cases we would have had a bit of a hike to the bus stop. Since it was almost 9/11, at times the routes into the city were even more congested as usual, as roads were closed and security checks were conducted. Riding on a bus would have taken a very long time. The PATH train was ideal. We did not eat at the hotel nor anywhere in Jersey City, because we were meeting up with others in Manhattan, but the area around the hotel seemed nice and was well-lit. Beds in the hotel were soft and comfortable with plenty of pillows. We didn't use the sleeper sofa. Some fabric softener on the towels wouldn't hurt, though - and it would be nice to have had the environmentally-friendly option to reuse towels during our stay. We have already recommended this hotel to friends and would not hesitate to stay there again.

We've got the "special room" with windows facing pool fans. Walls were vibrating from those fans outside! Why not converting those into "staff" rooms? Also on the second floor you can hear every subway train approaching and leaving. In the past we stayed on higher floors and it was alright.

Hotel was a good value for the area. Location next to the Newport PATH train which made gaining access Manhattan easy and affordable. No free breakfast and the bar didn't have much of a selection of beers. Pool area and Jacuzzi were relaxing.
