Old room, carpet, bathroom, furniture..
If you haven't booked -> This lodge (not hotel) is very old.. Room was clean but furniture was old, bathroom had stains, cracks.. Shower curtain was old, had lot of stains.. Towels were old.. Cheap quality breakfast (cereals were very basic).. Breakfast area was very small.. Stair railings were sticky.. Carpets were old.. If you have already booked -> Staff was helpful.. They will guide for direction, call taxi for JSQ, Airport.. Not a real issue with location since we used to go there to sleep only.. We used to go to Journal square(JSQ) for Path trains to NY.. It costs @ 10 $ from lodge to JSQ in taxi.. Uphill walk to JFK blvd to catch bus to JSQ is not preferable since its very steep hill.. While booking they mentioned newer room, nothing new about it.. Everything is old..

Take taxi to JSQ for quick transit to New york locations.. Can't walk from JSQ to Lodge since it's @ 2 miles..

great for a base to stay
it was my first time in ny. the hotel was only a place to sleep room was clean and large with a bus stop 5minutes away it turned out to be ideal

Worst Hotel Ever
Hotel was dirty. The room was not ready because when I walked by the cleaning lady was laying on the bed watch soap opera. The manager was rude when I asked why it is taking so long to clean the room and have it ready. This was a nightmare and I almost kicked his butt but he ran inside and locked the door.

Not the greatest
This is my 1st experience w/ this specific location. I was lost on my way there & everytime I tried to call the hotel & ask for directions; they had no idea how to direct me. Once I finally made it; the room was not in good shape. The room had several burn marks in the furniture, the fridge was warm & smelled funny. I did not stay long after that. Did not seem very friendly place.

My review of Econo Lodge Jersey City
The hotel was very dirty and the staff was not helpful. The fridge was barely working - the freezer - kept water minimally cool!
