Weekend Getawasy
It's perfect if you don't plan on being there for more than a few hours but the bed was hard, the pillows were a joke and well let's just say we don't plan on staying there again. The distance to the city, turnpike and proximity to other attractions and places are great though!

Adequate
The staff was very friendly. The room was small and there was no hand towels. It was nice to have a microwave and refrigator in the room which came in handy. Not much dining close but it was in easy driving distance of Ellis Island.

not very clean....
I had to book a hotel in that area at the last minute for a funeral and this was the only available for a reasonable price. The location wasn't great. it is very difficult to go to Manhattan from there. However, the worst part was the hotel itself. There was a storm on saturday and water from the roof was leaking in the bathtub, making it look really dirty. The towels had someone else hair on it and some had lipstick!!! overall, the place looks kind of run down...

When we arrived there, it was raining. The hotel was leaking several places in the corridor and office. We saw a big washbowl to collect falling down the raindrops from the roof in the office, when we are checking in. The room is relatively small and not so clean. However, the value compared with the price appears O.K.

Low budget travel
If you are on a low budget, this hotel might fit your needs. The maximum stars that you can give is 3 stars so they earned it. Room was clean, staff was courteous, immediate surrounding is so so but located in acceptable neighbourhood. Best value, you walk up manhattan street and take bus #51 straight to 42nd Ave in nyc for a couple of bucks.

DON'T DO IT.
I would NOT recommend this motel to anyone. We booked The Red Carpet Inn based on the reviews and stars it received on Orbitz, which was very misleading. I'm not sure who reviewed it before us, but what they had to say was a stretch to say the least. The staff was friendly enough, but very disorganized, keeping all of their billing documents and important information in manila folders. The surrounding neighborhood of the motel is awful. It is comprised of warehouses, abandoned buildings, and auto body shops. I did not feel safe in the slightest. The building itself looks rundown and low class, and the occupants at the hotel fit the same description. When we got in the room, there was a fridge and microwave, which was nice( and surprising). But, the toilet was covered in hair and the rug and room itself seemed old and outdated. Our door barely shut and there was no latch to lock from the inside. There was a Dunkin Donuts next door and that was really the only place to eat in the immediate area. However, the complimentary breakfast consisted of prepackaged cinnamon buns and stale coffee, so Dunkin Donuts would probably be your best bet. So, again, please rethink staying in this motel. There are plenty of other areas (Secaucus for example) that are much more appealing.

Good price, bad location
We were disappointed with the location on a busy road, probably made worse due to construction. It was very hard to navigate to and from due to Jersey barriers. Overall, the price was right, the room was clean and okay for an overnight stay. Wouldn't want to stay more than one night.

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
The info on the hotel listed many restaurants within walking distance, but there was only a Dunkin Donuts. The VIP Diner had large portions, good prices and food was tasty. Huge diner menu.
