Ramada Plaza Hotel Newark Intl Airport /EWR

I requested a non-smoking room and was put in a smoking room. It smelled like cigarettes when you walked in the door, so I questioned how clean it was. I requested a wake-up call and never got one. I only needed the room for 6 hours and the smell of the tobacco made that short time almost unbearable.

I was a little leary after reading some reviews, but then almost every place I looked at had a litany of bad reviews. Was it the most modern, up to date hotel I have ever stayed at. No. Did the bed and shower work (the main reasons for getting a hotel). You bet. The room was clean and even though there were several large groups (some foreign students on a trip, a wedding party), the hotel was nicely quite for being near the airport. If you are looking for 5 star resort, well, then you probably should not stay somewhere 2 minutes from the airport. If you are looking for a place to rest your head and shower for a good price (cause heaven knows everything else in this area costs $$$$, then this is the place for you.

Every year I stay here for one night. No matter how late I get in, there is someone polite and awake at the desk ( this year it was 1:30 am). There is a nice 24 deli for late arrivals that has a nice variety. It is clean, quiet and the van to and from the airport is great, driver friendly and helpful, even at 1 am.

The Ramada is a beautiful hotel close to Newark airport. The room, unfortunately, left something to be desired. There was a used condom wrapper in the night stand, only 1 washcloth for my husband and me(none available from maid either),and no amenities like mini fridge or microwave. The staff was friendly enough but helped us find a cab to take us 8 miles down the road that charged $30!

very very dirty

I stayed here with my family for 6 nights, when I was on a tourist trip to see New York. My stay was average. The good things about the hotel is the location, very close to Newark Airport and close to Newark Penn station (to connect to PATH to New York city). The hotel has a 24 hour airport shuttle which runs every 20 mins and also 24 hour coffee shop. The bad things are very unresponsive and rude front desk. Your requests and questions are answered, but the staff is not welcoming or pleasing to interact, not at all customer-friendly. Another thing which hit by trip badly was that, during the entire stay of 6 nights, the wireless connection in my room was not working. I had to go to the lobby to connect to internet and it was a real trouble for me as i couldn't connect to the internet whenever I wanted to. I reported it to several times, but they would either say that it is being worked on or sometimes transfer me to the Support desk of the Internet Service provided. I din't understand why I should be the person talking to the Internet Service provider's Customer support. Finally after doing all that too, the internet issue wasn't resolved.

Pretty decent hotel for the price. The location is good as it very close to the Newark Airport. The shuttle service to the airport was very helpful. The only complaint is the free wifi internet that was promised in all rooms was not available as they had technical difficulties and it was not resolved. We stayed for 6 nights and the problem persisted throughout our stay. If you absolutely need internet in your rooms, please check with the hotel before making the reservation.

My alarm clock did not work ,I made the mistake of asking the front desk to give a wake up call- at least two times prior to my checking out. Guess they did call me on the third day; when I was checking out, the other two days they forgot me or did not bother.I also brought the clock to the front desk and I asked for a new one that did not happen either. I was not asking for the Waldorf, But just common service. I paid CHEAP -I got CHEAP but I had to call Home to get a wake up call . Not good. But thank you for getting me to Newark, New York at a very cheap price .
