Studio 6 Albuquerque North

I am happy to say that this is a very professional hotel. Security everywhere. I was able to get new sheets in the middle of the night without a hassle. I checked in and they told me about a reduced rate that saved me money! Love it. The freeway is close, but you don't hear it. Journal Center is close for lunch spots that are fast. They definitely cater to dog owners with plenty of pet areas and the 'potty bags' were in abundance. I have stayed at the Crosswinds before and it was not nearly as nice a location. They didn't have ice machine at the Crosswinds, yet they did have ice trays at the Studio 6. Bigger room at the Studio and three chairs as opposed to the one at Crosswinds. Bigger refrigerator! Kitchen was nicely appointed with all cooking pots, pans and utensils.

For an overnight stay, it was good. only exception was with the heating unit that did not get to the desired temperature. Convenient off the freeway, overall stay was good.

I tried this motel because, even though it only had 2 reviews, they were both positive. But that proved to be a real mistake. Even though it appeared from the front area to be rather new and clean, once you parked, the exterior was dirty, overflowing trash cans, not maintained. The inside of the room was similar to a worn Motel 6 - sagging beds, light bulbs that were out, etc. My mother went to the bathroom when she woke up and had to catch a roach that was running across the bathroom floor. Also, this appeared to be housing for some seedy people. I saw a man push his disabled mate into their room while he was yelling obsenities. Children were playing in the parking areas. The young man that was working the office was, however, very cordial and helpful. He was, truely, the only plus I can recall for this facility. Find another place.

Studio 6 is a good value for a hotel with a kitchenette. Our room was clean & smelled fresh (non-smoking) It was a quiet place to stay for the 9 nights of the balloon fiesta. Staff was friendly & helpful. Receptionist offered info & maps about the fiesta. Very close to fiesta grounds and easy to get there from Studio 6. The maid cleaned our room once and we could change our towels at the office whenever we wanted. Many restaurants nearby.

The hotel is located next to a bus stop and right off the highway ramp so its convenient. Room comfortable, nothing to wow over, but it was clean and functional. Close to several government offices. Kitchen is ok. Staff is very friendly. Gas station down the block and some fast foods across the street. Good place to stay till you figure out the town.
