comfortable hotel, convenient location.

The hotel was fine and the only inconvenience that we had was the outside doors to the hotel near our room didn't open. However we were able to go through the adjoining hotel and park near our room.

OK for the money

I was looking for an inexpensive motel close to I-40, and it was what I needed. Continental breakfast wasn't much, but I walked across the road to the truck stop for a good hot breakfast.

Road Trip Out West

My wife and I were traveling out west and spent 2 nights in this hotel. The price was great which drew us to it. The hotel was average. We like the location because its not far from a lot of the attractions. If your not hard to please, I'll recommend it.

Much to be desired

Super 8 on 2500 University Ave., ABQ had MUCH to be desired! the bed felt like the box spring was on top. I had to fold the bedspread and put underneath the cover sheet to be comfortable enough for me go get a few hours' sleep. The "non-smoking" room smelled of stale cig. smoke. I sprayed about half a bottle of Fabreze for it to be tolerable to stay long enough for me to sleep. Someone had stolen the remote control for the tv. After 2 attempts, I got one that worked from the front desk. I guess for the $42. it was "you get what you pay for!!"

Comfortable

We had ask to be switched from our room twice: the first room was right by the back entrance/exit that had a loud heavy door; the second room was listed as nonsmoking but had a strong odor of cigarettes. After we were assigned a real nonsmoking room away from the loud doors, we were comfortable and enjoyed the room.

lower-end Super 8

This is definitely a lower-end Super 8. A REALLY needed my internet, and had to drive to a Starbucks across town to do that. 1st-floor ice machine was broken, so I used the 2nd floor one. Comp breakfast is cheerios, fruitloops, white-bread and waffles. It cost me only $38.99, so whatever.

needs renovated, but clean..mostly

I wanted a hotel that was easy to get to from the interstate, a good value, and restful. I like a hotel that has a free breakfast since that saves both time and money. I've stayed at many Super 8's and Motel 6's in my life and know that they are a no-frills kind of a place. They also seem to lack quality control as some are much nicer than others. This one is sorta middle of the road. The lobby of this location is utilitarian, with little decoration. I also noticed it was stale and dirty smelling, which gave me some anxiety over the state of the room. The carpets in the common areas were worn, stained, and very out of date. Style aside, it told me how long ago they had been installed. The directions to my room were confusing, especially since the Travelodge next door is actually the same building. I was also verbally given the wrong room number. If they hadn't written it down on a piece of paper, I would have had to go down to the desk again. Other than that, check in was pretty standard. The back hallways that the rooms lead off of were equally shabby and a bit smellier. Dirt, grease, and stale cigarette smoke. The room itself was standard and only smelled of ivory soap, which was a relief. The furniture and bedding were in good shape. The bed firm rather than plush, which is standard for lower priced hotels, it wasn't uncomfortable. One of the towels was stained. The sink area was tiny, what you would find in a half bath. My toiletry case opens up to around 8" wide and hung off the edge a bit. The tub was scratched but clean. The highway noise was minimal since I was on the opposite side of the hotel, however the walls are paper thin. I'm a heavy sleeper but was woken up when a group of teens arrived at midnight and then again around 6am when they started stirring. This is only partly their fault. They weren't being too obnoxious, just excited and visiting each other's rooms. Their only slightly elevated voices sounded like they were standing in my room. The doors would slam when they let go of them, banging and rattling things in my room, which is what woke me an hour before my alarm was set to go off. I couldn't hear anyone from the rooms, just the conversations in the hall and the slammed doors. Breakfast the next morning was pretty thin. Cheerios or Fruit Loops, white & wheat toast, waffles, coffee, and Apple and orange juice. They were out of butter for the waffles, which were only so-so. The waffles at the Quality Inn were restaurant quality. The only creamer for the coffee was powdered and the coffee was weak. It fed me, but wasn't really enjoyable, and not even close to nutrious. Overall, I got think I got a decent value. The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast free and saved me time. The location was great, right next to the highway with a truck stop across the street. The place needs renovated. The noise level was unacceptable and the condition of the common areas is atrocious. I probably won't be back to this location until they fix it up.
