Decent inexpensive place to stay, conveniently located

The title summarizes it. It's nothing special, and the walls are a bit thin. But if you're neighbors aren't especially loud, it can be a very convenient, inexpensive place to stay. Overall it's not bad, just don't expect extras.

Surprised...

I actually enjoyed staying here at this hotel. Due to the cold and snow/freezing rain, there were enough conveniences around that that made the stay here more comfortable... On the corner of two main streets: convenience store, open 24/7, T/A truck stop, also open 24/7 and a native(green chile), foods restaurant on the opposing corner that actually had good food(kudos to the cook!). Wonderfull "shuttle car" service! BUT..., In the room; one of the lights had a bulb out, a washed but grimmy towel was given to me to use after requesting exchange and because of the proximity/location of te truck stop, not as clean as could have been, good though...

Basic, good accommodation

For this price (special pricing at under $35/night), I was perfectly pleased. The carpet should have been replaced ten years ago, but other than that, it was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Slept like a baby. My friends down the street paid three times as much for our festival weekend. But I assure you, they didn't get three times the accommodation. If you go, keep your expectations in line with the price.

The Range Cafe is a great stop for breakfast or lunch. Better the the more famous Frontier a couple of miles away.

disgusting and rude staff

when we got into the room the first thing i found was there was blood on the pillowcase. i then pulled back the blankets to discover the sheets covered in hair. the bathtub was disgusting with peeling paint and what looking like a bad caulking job. there were dirty q-tips on the floor and something i do not want to know the origin from on the wall. when we went down to the desk to complain the housekeepers were there and said there is no way the room looked like that and continued to talk about us behind our back while we stood there asking to speak to a manager.

Cheap and Simple

There was really no "hotel experience" here. It's two beds and a shower with a TV set and telephone (wireless was basically non-existent). Do this if you're alone, need a cheap place to lay your head, or something to keep the cost down. And bring your anti-bacterial spray because until I got into this room, the sheets and room look like they hadn't been cleaned in months. I'm not complaining because "you get what you pay for", but staying here is something you don't want to do unless you have to.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Think Trucker's Travel Center, one step up from sleeping in the truck cab for the night.

The room was fine.

The room was fine and good service. They were doing some replacements of old equipment that made it look bad, fut should be better when finished. We just stayed the night to break up a long trip.

Southwestern Feel

The feeling of being back to the southwest again was very welcoming on this stay. Hotel was very accessible and close to restaurants and nightlife plus the university was less than a mile going the opposite direction from the hotel. Very upbeat atmosphere all around and that New Mexico charm keeps you wanting to extend your stay but I needed to get to my final stop quickly. Clean and comfortable room with very hot water to sooth that muscle ache after a long drive.
