Nice place
Beautiful grounds, large comfortable room with fireplace. Staff goes out of their way to please. Free coffee in lounge, newspaper to door. Went to recommended restaurant ( The Compound). When bill for meal presented, informed La Posada was picking up tab for dessert. 4-5 minute walk to plaza. Easy to get to from Albuquerque airport, 45 minutes. Lots of extras. Will go back!

Rooms Sub-Par
The outside areas, restaurant, bars and most staff at this hotel were fine -- but the rooms did not live up to the rest of the resort. I was assigned to an upstairs room, the farthest distance from the main building as possible. The room was comfortable, but nothing special. The heating/cooling was very strange -- I had to turn on the air conditioner in January in Santa Fe and it made a strange clicking noise all night. The next morning I woke up, got ready to shower and NO HOT WATER. None! I had to pack everything and move to a new (smaller) room -- not what I wanted to do at 8 in the morning. There was NO apology from the management. Being a "4-star" resort, I would have thought they would have sent some token of apology -- but that's just me. With so many other choices in Santa Fe, I'll try other options next time.

Our Stay At La Posada
As far as the satff goes, they were awsome. The room we stayed in was fairly decent. The TV was stuck in a dresser type cabinet and we couldn't see the whole screen unless we were on the bed. We never knew when the cleaning staff was going to show up and on two occasions they knocked twice and they were already on their way in before we could answer the door. The coffee maker in our room did not work properly and we had to call twice before they brought another one. The lighting was poor in the room. It was not centralized but more to one side of the room. Other than that it was a pleasant stay. The whole time we were there the staff would always ask if we needed anything whether we were coming or going. They were very helpful as to what there was to do in Santa Fe and great places to eat. All things considered I have to give La Posada four stars. The place is beautiful and there's lots of art in different forms. The Jazz music in the lounge was also great. I would definitely stay again.

Check out Vanessie Santa Fe. Lots of room, large bar, and there's a big piano that two locals perform on nightly. The food was great!

"Luxury" Hotel Worn Down--Fails to Deliver
Our king-size bed "patio" room was good, but the patios (front entrance and courtyard garden) were not. Dead plants in planters, with garbage candy wrappers left by previous guests still in them. Patio table tops that were dusty, dirty, and not wiped down. Missing patio chairs. Courtyard garden was full of weeds with no attempts at landscaping or flowers . To make matters worse, room door lock with key card readers kept acting up, locking us out of our room several times during our stay. This self described "luxury hotel" is, perhaps, tired, worn down, and not so "luxurious".

LA POSADA IS OUR FAORITE IN SANTA FE
This was our second stay at what has become our favorite spot in Santa Fe. It had been almost six years, so as we neared La Posada I’ll confess we wondered a bit whether or not the resort would be as wonderful as we remembered... it was even better, which is saying a great deal! From the prompt and efficient check-in service to the quick arrival of our luggage in our room by a smiling valet who knew the answers to our questions we knew we were in for another 5-star stay. Our room was lovely with a flat screen TV, comfortable leather arm chair, desk for the laptop, mini bar, coffee server, king size bed with four downy pillows. In the bathroom area was a large closet, safe, ironing board and iron. The sink counter was wide with plenty of room for two plus all of our accoutrements. AND, the amenities - Frette towels, plus delicious body lotion, conditioner, shampoo, and mouth wash formulated exclusively for Rock Resorts. (Loved the Lavender & Lemongrass shampoo!) Breakfast on the patio was a delight - everything from Huevos Rancheros to pancakes to granola. We enjoyed dinner in one of the Resort’s restaurants, Fuego, (Braised Beef Short Rib for him and Wild Mushroom Cavatelli for me). Another evening was sparked with live music and after dinner drinks in the bar - a fun place! Dress throughout the Resort is casual, comfortable. There’s a Business Center available with computers and printer, plus a shuttle service providing rides into downtown Santa Fe and pick-up when called. This service is on a first come first served basis, but we never waited longer than 10 minutes either way. A newspaper of your choice is delivered to your room each morning, and other papers are available in the main lounge area. La Posada has an on-site curator and displays over $1 million of original art works throughout the Resort’s public spaces and guest rooms. What an experience to stroll throughout while admiring this magnificent collection of art! Pops of color greet you around corners just as sunlit landscapes draw your eye. Cannot say enough good things about the staff who were always friendly, ready to help if wanted and never intrusive. Actually, we cannot say enough good things about La Posada de Santa Fe! We’re already planning a return visit as we’re eager to enjoy it at each season of the year.
