Very nice clean hotel, friendly staff, courteous and helpful. Location was way out of the main part of Taos and not clost to restaurants so a little inconvenient.

Description
San Geronimo Lodge is a unique Bed and Breakfast in Taos, northern New Mexico. To pass through its doors is to enter into another world. Expect rustic elegance, fascinating historic architecture, low-key ambiance and friendly, personal attention. Two miles from the center of Taos, it is situated on several wooded acres surrounded by serene countryside. Trees and songbirds abound and a creek runs through the property. accomodations not as advertised...advtsd/rsvd as having a spa/bath and a fireplace...spa/bath not available in rooms as advtsd...hot tub not working and covered w/ inches of snow...had to pay upgrade for room w/ fireplace...fireplace screen shattered first nite...and not offered a discount nor refund for upgrade for second nite (w/o fireplace)...nice dining area and good b'fasts...rooms quiet and clean, but not as advtsd re: amenities..[...]overall a C or C+

The Resort at Taos is located next to the former home of Nicolai Fechin, a local community artist and is a short walk to shops and restaurants. The resort houses 67 studio, one and two bedroom units. The kitchens in these units consist of an under counter refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker and related utensils. A large, complemintary guest laundry is available on the main floor adjacent to the lobby. All units have decks or patios and air conditioning. Requests such as bedding configurations, views, non-smoking units, specific units, and the like, shall be subject to availability, and cannot be guaranteed. The swimming pool is seasonal, closed November 1 - April 1, but the spa is open year round. Also there is guest laundry facilities available onsite. Housekeeping service schedule is upon departure only. Check-in is at 4pm. Check-out is at noon. Minimum age required at check-in is 21. If arriving after hours please contact front desk 72 hours ahead of time at 1-575-751-3275. Taos, in north-central New Mexico, has been a thriving artists community since the early 20th century. One early artist in town was Nicolai Fechin, who passionately depicted the local landscape and Native Americans.

Capture the elusive Southwest past at the Sagebrush Inn. Long a Taos landmark- the inn offers tradition- aesthetics and comfort- all at a reasonable price. Three miles south of Taos Plaza- it is removed from the crowds yet easily accessible to attractions in the area. All guest receive a full complimentary cook to order breakfast each morning. High speed wireless internet is available at no charge. Two indoor hot tubs- outdoor seasonal swimming pool. Nightly entertainment and dance lessons are available in our cantina. The Los Vaqueros Steak House specializes in Prime Rib- Fish and Seafood- and Mexican cuisine. Our misson-style inn was built in 1929- catering to well-to-do guests traveling between New York and Arizona. The painter- Georgia OKeeffe- lived here for six months during the 1940s- working in the only third story room. All 97 rooms are delightfully decorated with hand-carved furniture and Mexican tiled bathrooms. Accent rugs- pottery lamps- vigas- tin light fixtures as well as televisions and phones enhance each room. Many rooms have kiva fireplaces that add a warm romantic feel to the room.

Can be a comfortable stay

We have stayed at this hotel twice. The first time, we rented a standard room. The room was very small and the bed was not comfortable at all. The second stay, we upgraded to the fireplace room. This room was very much a better room with a small patio with a nice view of the moutains and with a large vanity area. Fireplace rooms are nicely equipped with a refridgerator, microwave, coffee pot, and iron. During both stays, we were not very impressed with the hospitality while checking in. The woman was very curt and seemed bothered by the very idea of having to check us in.

The pictures on the web must be from 20-30 years ago. The ambience is nothing like what the pictures suggest, and the room we were given was night and day different. The room we were given was wholly unacceptable ... smelly, dusty, dirty carpets, poor amenities, etc. The hotel is obviously in a downward spiral and in a general state of disrepair. It's in a great location, and likely has a proud history, but needs a lot of TLC to come back up to acceptable standards.

This is a lovely quiet B&B to make a perfect Taos vacation. The proprietor takes great pains to help everyone enjoy their stay. The breakfasts are just wonderful - a great way to start the day.

Was somewhat disappointed on arrival. Room was clean, but entire fcaility was showing its age. Had stayed in a much nicer hotel the previous night at the same price. The way free breakfast was handled was generous, but didn't really work for us. My wife is a late riser and having to order a full breakfast and eat it in the dining room just didn't work for us. Otherwise we were reasonably comfortable and enjoyed our stay in Taos.

Great hotel if you need a cost effective place to stay on your snowboarding trip. If you want a place with more ambiance I would suggest a bed and breakfast.

We spent 2 nights here vacationing in Taos. I loved the location of the hotel. We always like staying where you can get out and sightsee without the use of your car. The hotel provides parking. The room was small and seemed dated...no flat screen TVs here. Great Body and Bath products for your bathing/shower.

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Our room overlooked the plaza and we enjoyed the view. There is no outside patio or outside seating. A coffee shop next to the hotel gave us free coffee. The room was clean and well taken care of. The room was small but well furnished and functional. The staff gave us free bottled water as they were concerned about how out of town guests adapt to the dry climate. Hotel owners appeared to try to incorporate local art into the room and the towel rack and the possibly hand made door numbers. Overall it was pleasant hotel with friendly staff and a historic place to stay as it has been refurbished. There has been care given to this hotel. We would return to this hotel if we visit Taos again.

location and price, you just can't beat it. the parking lot is right next door to one of our taos favorites, the downtown bistro. i would highly recommend.

Located on four beautifully landscaped acres on the north side of Taos, we are a short walk to the Historic Taos Plaza, in addition to shops, galleries and world class restaurants. Taos Pueblo and Taos Mountain Casino are one mile away and Taos Ski Valley only a short drive. Park your car and hop on the Chili Line shuttle. It stops across the street, and makes year round traveling around town or to the Ski Valley in the winter so simple.

Nice place to stay in New Mexico

I read some good reviews about the El Pueblo Lodge on some other sites, so I decided to stay here before going to Sante Fe the next day.
The location is great with the downtown Taos plaza being just a couple of blocks away. The rooms were bigger than the average hotel room and pretty comfortable overall. The breakfast was great and the staff was also very friendly.
Minor issues:
The TV was smaller than what most motels have, one of the spare blankets was dirty, and the walls were a little thin (we could hear people talking and the showers running in the other rooms). Besides that, it was a pleasant stay for the price.

The Sun God cannot bathe.

The room was very small and had dark and gloomy wall panels throughout. There is no air conditioning in the room so I asked for a large, floor fan to stave off the afternoon heat. The shower head dripped the water as there was very little pressure apparent.
My lady and I were pleased with the part that Orbitz
played in our planning, though, so you can expect to

This is a charming bed & breakfast in a great Taos location. The hosts are delightful. Breakfast each morning was absolutely gourmet!
The inn has a lovely livingroom and dining area. The rooms are quiet with comfortable beds.
My husband and I totally enjoyed our visit to the Touchstone Inn.

This was our first time in Toas. Our primary purpose for the visit was to ski. We were disappointed that the hotel did not have any brosures on local ski resorts. The rooms are very nice, but the restaurant is expensive and slow -- it seemed to be understaffed. We started eating at the bar, which has good hamburgers. The spa is beautiful, but also very expensive. I would recommend dropping price on spa treatments and restaurant.

This was our 2nd visit. Pool and hot tub closed.(we choose this hotel based on the fact that it had a great indoor pool). Girl at check-in was not too helpful. Room smelled bad. Bar closed before 10pm. The 2nd day we were here the front desk day clerk did upgrade us to a suite. Our 1st visit was 5 stars our 2nd was 4 stars.
