Great value in Taos
Clean and roomy hotel. Great central location and great value. Breakfast was one we chose to skip for the food was of low quality so we walked to a great breakfast place nearby. Would stay there again.

solid choice for visiting Taos
El Pueblo is a quick ten minute wall to downtown, a big plus for me. Clean room, charming tile work in the bathroom, adequate breakfast, excellent areas to sit outside. The staff was efficient if hurried, except at check out, when the woman was warm and helpful. She let me keep my car parked at the hotel after checkout so that I could explore the city on foot.

Dragon Fly cafe next door has a bakery along with its lunch and late dinner. Good food, though pricey. That's Taos.

Nice old style
If you can appreciate an older style motel/lodge, this is a great place. It's comfortable, clean and cozy. It's a short walk to the center of town and quite close to the road to Taos Pueblo. I'm not sure there's a better place for the price.

good value, good location
You can walk to bars and restaurants and the Chili express ski bus (50 cents) stops right there to take you to the ski slopes. The breakfast was good. Hot Tub is available.

Good Taos deal
Older but well kept accomodation. We opted for the larger Fire Place unit which was very roomy and comfortable. Free Wi-Fi worked well. Outdoor pool was closed for the winter but they have a very large inground hot tub that was great! Better than average basic continental breakfast included.

Long walk from hotel
A number of restaurants near the "Plaza" which can be walked to from this motel, albeit a long walk. Had lunch at the Bent Street Grill, good food moderate price.

Nice place to stay in New Mexico
I read some good reviews about the El Pueblo Lodge on some other sites, so I decided to stay here before going to Sante Fe the next day. The location is great with the downtown Taos plaza being just a couple of blocks away. The rooms were bigger than the average hotel room and pretty comfortable overall. The breakfast was great and the staff was also very friendly. Minor issues: The TV was smaller than what most motels have, one of the spare blankets was dirty, and the walls were a little thin (we could hear people talking and the showers running in the other rooms). Besides that, it was a pleasant stay for the price.

The Gorge Bar and Grill at the Taos Plaza had a nice selection of food. The Mexican restaurants in the area are nice too, but this is a nice spot if you want some variety.
