Luxor, aged but still a great value.
While in Vegas for work or play you never spend a great deal of time in your room,so Luxor works just fine. While the decor has aged, it was spotlessly clean, and what makes this the best bargain was the staff. From the check-in to check -out the service was excellent. People smile and are eager to help. They food was a most pleasant surprise. So try this spot the next time you are in Vegas.

In town for work
I have been staying in Las Vegas at least 4 times a year for 2 weeks at a time for 10 years. First time at the Luxor. Check in was fine (except for the mandatory "Resort Fees" - which I never use). Got to my room and realized the view from the inside of the hotel was of a construction zone, and the view outside was a wall of the Mandalay. No biggie. The wall paper was peeling off of the wall int he bathroom, and there were a few pieces of hair in the sink, but all things considering the room was average for Las Vegas. Only real problem I had was my last night there. It rained all night, and when 6 am rolled around I woke up to find that the exterior window seal was shot and had leaked all night directly over the table I had my suitcase on. ALL of my clothes were soaked. I went down to check out (in the previous days clothing) and informed the manager of the issue. He informed me that there was nothing he could do because the room had been part of a prepaid deal through this site. In the end, he reimbursed my "Resort Fee" (which again - I never use any of the amenities - the pool was closed, the spa prices are ridiculous, and everything else has it's own fee anyway. I was tired, in dirty clothing, and on my way to the airport so I let it go. One last issue though. When I got to the Delta counter and checked in my suitcase, I had to pay an additional 75.00 over weight fee because EVERYTHING in my bag was soaked. Kind of erased the "Resort Fee" credit.

Good hotel and location, great value
I have stayed at the Luxor several times, and find it fits my needs. The rooms are quiet, and depending on what side you are on, the views can be quite nice. The only thing that I would offer on the "could be improved" side is that there is no wireless internet available in the rooms. There is wired access, but if you are traveling with an iPad, etc., it will not do you much good.

Last Stay
While the monitary value is good, an inspection of the rooms prior to occupancy could have eliminated the problems I had which included the TV and temperature control. Reception is rushed and rude - I've seen much better at other properties in Vegas.
