The Mirage, the hotel that introduced the concept of destination resort to the Las Vegas Strip, recently underwent a stunning transformation to maintain its preeminent position in what has become an increasingly competitive market. While introducing contemporary amenities designed to recapture the resort's leading-edge position, The Mirage maintains the exceptional service standards and sophisticated atmosphere that have distinguished it as a AAA Four Diamond Luxury Resort and Casino.

Once inside, a sun-lit atrium welcomes you with palm trees towering above waterfalls and pools. Already one of the most elaborate and technically advanced in the world, The Mirage aquarium recently underwent a transformation. New, brighter artificial corals evoke the exotic beauty of such tropical locales as Australia's Great Barrier Reef, while the addition of hundreds of new sea creatures provides a rare glimpse into the aquatic wonders of our planet.

The Mirage's 3,044 guest rooms and suites have undergone a $110 million dollar renovation. The new rooms will feature simple lines with an ergonomic design detailed to give a high-end feel, while warm woods and a bold color scheme transport the rooms into the realm of chic. Ultra-modern upgrades and amenities including LCD TVs and iHome MP3 docks provide everything necessary for a truly lavish experience to cater to both the leisure and business traveler (Mirage Events Center offers over 171,000-square-feet of convention space).

The Spa and celebrity stylist Kim Vo Salon, offers the latest in hair trends and treatments as well as manicures, pedicures, hair extensions and personalized makeup services. A barbershop provides men's grooming products along with traditional services. Enjoy a therapeutic massage or indulge yourself to one of our natural, soothing body and facial treatments in the new Spa at The Mirage.

The Mirage's lush tropical pool area includes two pools, three spas surrounded by waterfalls, private cabanas, and an outdoor cafe. Bare at The Mirage offers an exclusive adult alternative to the typical Las Vegas pool experience. With its distinctive contemporary ambiance and ultra VIP service, Bare is ideal for those wanting to relax, kick-back and socialize or turn up the music and heat up the day.

If lounging by the pool leaves you famished, try the wide variety of Fine Dining. From steak and seafood at kokomo's to Italian-American fare at Onda Ristorante, or modern contemporary Japanese cuisine at Japonais. Or, for a more casual setting stop by the Carnegie Deli (the only outpost outside of NYC), Cravings buffet, BLT Burger or the California Pizza Kitchen.

For entertainment, Cirque du Soleil's latest creation, "LOVE," showcases the music of The Beatles in a custom-built, multi-million dollar theater. Winner of "America's Got Talent," Terry Fator is the resort's resident impressionist/ventriloquist/singer/comedian. In addition, myriad lounges offer lively libations and live entertainment, and, of course, the tropical-themed casino has a wide variety of slots, video poker, and table games and a race and sports book.

*** Guests must be 21 or older to check in.

A resort fee of $15 plus tax per room per day will be assessed at the front desk. Resort fee includes in-room Internet access; daily newspaper; daily access to Cardio Room (not including The Spa or fitness center); two robes provided for guest use during their stay; complimentary printing of boarding passes, complimentary notary services, unlimited local and toll-free calls, and free copies and faxes up to 5 pages.

Please note that the resort fee will increase from $15 to $20 for all new reservations booked as of Dec 13 for stay dates January 3, 2011, on.

Great time at the Mirage

We had a great time at the Mirage! We stayed in a deluxe room on the 15th floor, unfortunately overlooking an empty pool and building top. The bathroom was very small, very difficult to share! The staff was great, short lines checking in and we were able to checkout online, which saved us about 20 minutes in line. The location was perfect for us; we were able to walk everywhere with the exception Fremont Street as it is far from the strip.

We'll Be Back

Nicely located, beautiful hotel. Big, with lots of places to eat, adjacent shopping and all that good stuff. But not the mammoth feel that some of the larger hotels have. Felt more peaceful to me...a good thing. We checked in early, just after 11 and we were able to get right into our room. A $10 per night upgrade gave us a nice view of the strip. The room was all remodeled, very contemporary. The bed was comfy and I the hotel rooms seemed generally quiet. Nice experience all around.

Smokey room

Overall the experience was good. We had a non-smoking room that had a really bad odor of cigar or cigarette smoke. We called the front desk and they offered to move us but it wasn't worth it due to only being there 2 nights. They sent somebody up with a spray bottle to try and cover up the odor, this just made it worse. On top of that, this person was not happy about having to come to our room, he was done with his shift and was complaining about working late and having to come to our room. The next night the smell was back again, even worse than before. Not a pleasant experience.

Good for the Money..

Overall we had a good stay. Asian themed throughout especially during Japenese New Year time.. They did a great job with decorations. Room was clean and upgraded view was worth the increased rate or you will be looking at the highway. We were on the 23rd floor so view was nice. Basic room with a King Size bed..very comfortable. Room was good size but the bathroom was small with standard hotel tub. We booked the Garth show at the Wynn and the Cirque "0" at the Bellagio so Mirage location was in the middle so the walk wasn't bad. Buffet was good as was the Japonious resturant. Just me and my wife on this trip. We are not big gamblers so casino is a casino to me. Made our $100 donation to a few slot machines and went site seeing. Would stay again as value and location were what we wanted.

Dissapointed Frequent Visitor

I have stayed in Vegas at least once a year for the better part of 10 years and have never been as frustrated at I was with this Hotel. I asked for adjoining rooms when booking, but I was informed rudely by the receptionist that that is just a request. Not totally discouraged I asked if I could get rooms on the same floor. You would have thought I had asked her to go lay down in traffic by the reaction I recieved. I have stayed in less expensive hotels and had better service. Beware of the $20.00 a day resort fee they charge. And I wouldnt recommend eating anything from the room refridgerators unless you've hit it big at the casino and have lots of money to spend. I think Vegas has better Hotel choices than this one.

Middle of the strip

The Mirage is a fantastic place to stay in Vegas. Middle of the strip, nice rooms with the basic comforts, not the best rooms in Vegas and bathrooms are on the small side, but all you really need. Good restaurant choices and close to shops at Cesar's and the Venetian.

Two Day Get Away

Paid for a room up grade but the room we got was just average, it over looked an emty swimming pool and the rooftop. Not what I consider a great view. Definately not a strip view.
