Homestead Fishkill - Poughkeepsie

Nothing special, nothing bad. Stayed here because I was visiting New Paltz and everything there was booked (I booked late and it was parents' weekend at the college). My only complaint is that the non-smoking room smelled smoky. Otherwise, it was fine for a night. Also, it's not called Homestead anymore; they renamed it America's Extended Stay.

Good for an vernight stay and in a central location.

Clean rooms in a convenient location. Easy access on/off the freeway, close to shopping and dining.

Fairly clean although we saw a spider. Mildew on shower.

It was just ok. Next time we will pay a bit more for the Hyatt

This was a very nice hotel - it was well maintained and inviting. The landscaping was so pretty with all the lovely flowers. The lobby was small but inviting - beyond the lobby was an area where you could get a free cup of coffee all day and tables and chairs if you were perhaps having a meeting. Beyond this through a set of glass doors was a courtyard to sit out if you so desired. The staff was always there for any questions or just to chat a bit with their guests. They were all very personable. One of the biggest pluses is that pets are allowed and if you are a pet lover you know how much this means. Would definitely stay here again.

I was pleased with this hotel-stayed here twice. The kitchen has plates,bowls,cups,cutlery,mugs,servers,and two pots. Everything was clean. Thermostat worked well, shower was always hot. It's perfect for the price.

Staff wonderful and quite helpful. When we found a defective remote in the room, the front desk lady (sorry, I can't remember her name) came up with 3 others and found us one that worked. Cheerful suggestions for dinner led us to a great place nearby to eat. We went hiking in the mountains along the Hudson, a 5 minute ride from the hotel. We will come back.

We spent 2 nights at this hotel. Check-in and check-out were easy. Staff was friendly. They allow dogs - $25 per night extra. It's an easy walk to Starbucks and Panera. Onlly problem was we asked for non-smoking room and were put on a smoking floor. Although our room didn't have a smoking sign on it, I could smell smoke all of the time. We didn't complain or ask to be moved as we were at Marist College most of the weekend and only in room to sleep. I'm sure they would have moved us if we had asked.

Check in was smooth and easy. The hotel was clean and well maintained, with a welcoming entryway and a short walk to the desk. A very nice area outside the rear of the hotel with tables and chairs, nicely landscaped. We stayed in a studio suite, which was a bit small but blissfully quiet! Shopping and restaurants were all easy to get to and we had nice mountain views from our windows. Everything in the room was spotless and when the iron didn't work we called the front desk and a replacement arrived in minutes. Check out was even easier than check in.The Homestead was perfect for a quick getaway and we would definitely stay at this hotel again.
