the bed was quite comfy. the best part about the hotel was its kitty corner from penn station and is about 2 big blocks from the 34th and hearld station. the shampoos, conditioners, and lotions were good too

Great Location and Good Value
First time I stayed at the Affinia...better than I expected. A big plus is the efficient, caring and pleasant staff. The room was clean and comfortable...toilet paper a little rough...sink area small...room size very good for the price for Manhattan...no real reservations about staying there again.

Great Value
I was surprised to check in to the room to find a kitchenette with stove and refrigerator, a living room, a separate bedroom with 2 Queen size beds and 2 full bathrooms. It would have made a great apartment in NYC. I am not sure if I got upgraded because they did not have any regular rooms left...but it was awesome.

1st time in NY
Business trip - convenient location
The hotel was fine, although pricey like most in Manhattan. The room was comfortable, but the a/c was hard to control - either pumping out heat, or blowing cold air. There are six elevators, but for some reason you still have to wait as long as if there was just one. The restaurant food was good - for both dinner and breakfast. I was disappointed that WiFi is not free - it's a real rip-off in this day and age to have to pay for this service. The reception staff failed to pass on several messages to me, and lost some documents that had been delivered.

Couple's getaway
Being in downtown Manhattan we knew it would be noisey so we brought ear plugs. Our room was right outside a construction site neighboring the hotel and the jack hammar was unbelieveably loud and started at 7a.m. We stuck it out for two mornings but the ear plugs did nothing and I literally had to yell to converse with my husband. We didn't want to be the complaining type but we needed sleep. I cannot say enough good things about the hotel staff. They were wonderful. They moved our room immediately to a higher floor and on the opposite side of the hotel. No questions asked. They seemed genuinely interested in our comfort. Their hospitality is top notch and thier location was excellent. We were in the heart of it all and only short blocks from the most famous attractions.

Ask for a list of good restaurants at the front desk. We visited a few on the list and all of them were reasonably priced for NYC. We were not disappointed by any of their suggestions.

Great location, friendly staff
The location is just perfect - across from Penn station and a block away from the Subway. Lots of NYC attractions are also within walking distance. They gave me a free upgrade to a corner suite with two rooms, two bathrooms, and a kitchen - it felt more like an apartment rather than a hotel room. I would definitely stay at the Affinia Manhattan on my next trip to NYC.

Retirement celebration
Spent 4 nights at the Affinia hotel with a friend, the staff were friendly and helpful, the restaurant was excellent and was placed within walking distance of Times Square. A fantastic short break.
