Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Free continental breakfast was a plus. Nice to be able to grab a something quick before heading out for the day. One of our main reasons for NYC visit was Broadway shows, so this location was too far from most shows. Luckily, the subway was close by. Lots of construction on the street. Hotel is very close to Herald Square, nice place to sit and people watch. Macy's & Empire State Building is just a block away.

Certainly Comfortable
The hotel experience was overall excellent. Great location, great restaurant/bar downstairs (discount(s) with your room key). I was on the 5th floor, and the street noise was barely audible -- the A/C fan completely downed it out. The bathroom was kind of small, but you'll have that. The only problem was that it's impossible to close the room doors without having them slam, but that wasn't a big problem. After suffering in a "bargain" hotel a few blocks down on a previous trip, the Comfort Inn was definitely a good value. I would stay there again. Free breakfast.

Great Location and value
Comfort Inn Manhattan was a great value hotel with surprisingly large and well-appointed rooms in a superb location. With Macy's, the Empire State Building and the subway all very close by you can't but help have a great start to your vacation. The hotel staff were all polite and helpful and the neighbouring restaurant provided a good breakfast and evening meals. We combined both substantial shopping and sightseeing excursions and it was really nice to be able to hop back to this central hotel to drop off shopping or have a rest before heading out again.I would definitely recommend this hotel to those of you who want to combine comfort and value for money!

Great Location
We arrived to the city by train at Penn Station which was close to the hotel. The staff was happy to store our bags in a locked area while we went on a city tour at 10am. We returned to the hotel to check in at 6pm. At the end of our stay we checked out at 11 am, but they again kept our bags while we shopped until we returned at 1pm. The hotel restaurant was recommended to us before we arrived and the person making the referral didn't know that it was located in our hotel. We had a very nice evening meal. The complimentary breakfast was served in the same very nice restaurant dining room. After dinner in the evening we walked to the Empire State Building. There were no lines and we had a spectacular view of the city lit up at night. We then walked to Time Square. We stopped at an Irish Pub across the street from our hotel for dessert before settling in for the evening.

Good inexpensive option for NYC
The Comfort Inn is located within easy walking distance of 5th avenue right near the Empire State Building and whatever else you could need (i.e. Walgreens, NYC pizza shop, Irish pub). It was quick and easy to check in, the room was comfortable and clean. Bathroom was on the very small side, but all necessities are there. Staff was friendly. Easy to get a cab. I would recommend this for budget travelers who need to stay in Manhattan.

Location & Upkeep
The comfort Inn Manhattan was not in a good location. The view was of the building next door. The electrical was such thet you could not use the blow dryer and air conditioning at the same time - it would blow a fuse.

a front desk person that could care less, not smile, and be put out by a simple request. The room was small but clean. the stairs needed to be cleaned. There was no suitcase stand and the room was very noisy.
