A wonderful family vacation
This was our first trip to New York City. We had a wonderful time. The motel has a great location. The bus and subway systems are easy to figure out and are conveniently accessible from the motel. There are several types of eating establishments within a block or two; authentic smaller places and larger restaurants, too. We spent time in each area of the island and saw many attractions while we were there so we were very tired by the time we returned to the motel. It is a quiet area so we liked that. The staff was helpful with directions and tips on attractions. We would definately stay at this motel again.

If you are in a hurry to get some place, take the subway. If you want to see more of the different cultures, take the bus. They are both easy to figure out.

Great location, comfortable room
Great location - we were able to walk everywhere from this central location. The service that we recieved was wonderful. It’s a short walk to Carnegie Hall, Central Park, Times Square and Lincoln Center the same to theaters, restaurants, pharmacy. The staff is very helpful. TV didn’t have many channels (but who cares) and no free wireless internet. Next time in New York, I will stay there.

very nice room for a great price
we went to new york for al kooper's 65th birthday party at bb king's. i got a great price on a room with 2 double beds. The room was far more spacious than i am used to seeing in ny, clean and quite comfortable. the location was excellent and there were a number of great restaurants just within a block or two. A short walk to the subway, so it was easy to get anywhere. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would definitely stay there again.

A Welcome Home Away from Home
I went to NY with my 16 year old daughter. We. had a very large room, much larger than other hotels we stayed at in NYC, which was very welcome. The only problem was the hallway really stank of smoke, but that was preferable to the room having a bad oder. The staff was always friendly and helpful. We'd definitely stay there again!

Location, Location!
This is a typical Holiday Inn Hotel. The room is somewhat small, but adequate --even with 4 women. I found the bed a little uncomfortable, but not horrible. But the biggest plus is the location. It is 3 blocks from a subway; 3 blocks from Columbus Circle. Just great location!

Great location- good value
Stayed here from Dec 26th to Dec 29th 2008- got to the hotel around 8:30 A.M. and was able to check into the room. We had a 2- double bed room for four people and for NY the room was very spacious. My only two complaints were #1- the heat/air unit in the room would not go to cool- it seems they change it like that for the winter, even if the room is hot, you have to open the windows to let in cool air- #2- the water in the shower was not very hot- just barely above lukewarm. I think this is on purpose to keep anyone from accidentally scalding themselves, but I like a hot shower. Other than these two things, I liked the hotel- great location- decent price- big room and we got to check in early.I would defiantly stay there again and also would recommend it to my friends.

The staff was friendly. ...
The staff was friendly. Although the room was not elegant, it was comfortable and clean. It is in a residential neighbor with a great breakfast place one block away on the corner and a spa further up. The hotel is close enough to all you wish to see in Manhattan.

good value
We found the Holiday Inn Midtown to be a good value. It was convenient to a couple of different Metro stops, as well as to Central Park. There was a huge Whole Foods grocery in the Times-Warner Center nearby, which allowed our family to have breakfast in our rooms. My only negative comment is that the bathrooms could use a really good scrubbing... the corners were a bit grubby. Not gross, just a bit grimy.

Great Value
Large room and a discounted rate allowed this family of 4 to visit NYC at Christmastime. Within walking distance to theaters and Times Square! Large room allowed for an extra cot. Best value I've found! Definitely will be back.
