Understated Hip
The Hudson has an excellent location a block from Columbus Circle and Central Park. Rooms tend to be on the small side but reasonably well maintained. Overall a good experience and excellent value.

Very unique atmosphere
We enjoyed the hotel itself. The rooms are extremely small but they were very clean. The biggest complaint is the matress. It was so old and uncomfortable that we hardly slept. Looks like the hotel is due for some updating of furniture. for the price I was not pleased.

Great Place to Stay
Have stayed at the Hudson a number of times and will continue to do so in the future. Staff is always friendly and welcoming when I arrive. Even got a room upgrade!

Too Dark!
Location is good but the rooms are very small and dark. Needs to be updated and refreshed. Just not for anyone over 25.

Very disappointing
1. Staff at check-in could not find confirmed reservation; took 45 minutes to obtain a room assignment. 2. Even with all the lights on, the rooms at the Hudson are too dark. 3. The bed was much too low to the floor.

Cold Room
The thermostat would not bring the room temperature up. When set at 90, it barely made it to 68 in the room!

Short walk from hotel
Applejack Diner is a great old-fashioned NY spot where the service is good, and the food is straightforward.

Great Value, Style and Location... Just needs Couple Improvements to Make it Perfect (5 Stars).
Hudson Hotel is a Sleek Stylish Hotel close enough to Columbus Circle/Central Park. Close to everything you need on the West Side. Upon arriving, the Front Desk was very friendly, quick & attentive. The hotel's Bars (Very Night Clubby - Yeah!), City Park (Romantic) & Sky Terrace (Very Scenic) made the purpose of our trip to NYC (A Bryan Ferry Concert at the Beacon Theater) that more magical. The Room's appointments (Hardwood Floors, Sheer Curtains, Sleek Furnishings & Wood Paneling Walls) made going to bed & waking up inviting & unique. The only(2) concerns that need improvement are the following: - The Bathroom sort had a "funky" smell to it. - The Elevators were not the most reliable (Safe. Just took so long to get into one). Despite the (2) concerns, I would DEFINITELY return to the Hudson. However, I would stay for a minimum of a week!

Order the Ricotta Pancakes (via Room Service). They are delicious and a great way to start a "New York" day!

Cool vibe but short on comfort
Ultra small rooms, maid service was spotty (one day but not the next?) only a few elevators seemed to work so it would take 20 minutes to get to the lobby because each time it stopped it was full. Had to take the stairs a lot. couldn't get the wi-fi to work. Thank God I didn't have children on this visit.
