A mom daughter trip
great timing
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rate was great I suspect because they are going through renovations. The renovations were not important to our trip so it did not bother us. The room smelled very clean. The location was perfect for our needs.

Trattoria Dellarte. Just up the block. Very friendly and attentive wait staff. Delicious food. Playful "arty" decorating.

No frills
Great price and good size rooms but keep your expectations low in terms of services. It's under construction and will be for many months. Rooms were fine though.

2 girls on a trip
We were initially placed on a floor with construction above and below us- I don't know what the receptionist was thinking. We got woken up to a horrendous melody of drills and hammers. The front desk staff was not empathetic at all, and very dryly switched us rooms, one lady actually tried to get me to go back up to my room so I could get my ID and prove I was who I was after I had already been checked in for a day. Ridiculous. The front desk staff needs a serious lesson in customer service and common sense. the good things... rooms were clean, beds comfortable and great location. I won't go back,. because there are too many hotels in NYC to return to a place that rubbed you the wrong way.

Door lock was broken and when I was taking shower the color of water was brown that was so unpleasant. However, location was perfect so I could go anywhere without any difficulty.

The park central is not central park
Good location with a nice 5 blocks to the buzz of Time Sq. Hotel staff in lobby not to knowledgeable about fine points of room rules. But was very good value for price. room was quite OK, had window to central courtyard but still no direct sunlight. for price was totally valid and good ( less than $200)

Decided to stay in NYC an extra night and found this hotel at a very reasonable price. Walking distance to Time Square, subway entrance on the corner, good staff. Spacious room with a good view. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
