Ramada Plaza - Akron, OH

Very quite hotle. Did not find the matress control until the morning. It would have been nice if they had it exposed on the nightstand. It under the bed. Over all good place to stay in down town Akron.

Likes: Sleep number bed, best heater/AC unit I have had in years – quiet and easy to control temp, remodeled room, good restaurant, accommodating staff. Dislikes: Early risers have to wait ≈10 minutes for hot water to reach 10th floor and TV is ok but no FOX news - most channels fuzzy – could be the TV. Note: Remodeled rooms 10th floor and up. Heard from locals and others you don’t want an old room.

Could not find the hotel d/t no sign on the building. Both rooms ordered smelled BAD. No one in the dinning room @ 7:00am for breakfast. Had to yell into the kitchen to find someone. When I did find a staff member they were more interested in getting the the buffet out then taking my order. I told them I only had 20 min. That still didn't get me any service. I ordered a cup of coffee and had a box of cereal and they charged me $6.00. THIS HOTEL NEED A MANAGER THAT CARES ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE ASAP!!!

I chose this hotel because of the reviews I had read. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to those reviews. Because of a recent surgery, I didn't get up and going until about noon the morning after my arrival. I stopped at the front desk and asked if I could get the room cleaned. The front desk was none too happy that I had put the Do Not Disturb sign on the door and then actually asked to have the room cleaned. Furthermore, the commode didn't flush. I asked, at the same time as above, if they could check out the commode. When I got back to the room, it was cleaned but the commode hadn't yet been repaired. When I called downstairs, she said, "oh, I didn't know you wanted it looked at"!!! What part of not flushing is there to not understand. As a result, my departure for the evening was delayed a 'bit - but it's the principal. Also, based on the reviews, I was expecting a nicer room (since the review mentioned that the rooms were recently redone). I definitely think I got an older room . . . the one with dirty carpet, non-functioning commode and wallpaper that was peeling in several places and had mold on the back due to the humidity in the room. [...] Bottom line . . not the worst experience . . not the best . . not even average. Just a 'bit below.

Nice value and great location with respect to University of Akron and Okasek Natatorium.

while staying at the Akron Centre Hotel I had so much fun it was a very relaxing enviorment I they had a number bed and a jaccuzi in the bed room the only thing they were missing was a microwave and a mini refrigerator.Other than that it was wonderful.

Akron is desperately trying to make a come-back and this re-vamped Radisson high-rise is a step in the right direction. Perfect hotel for business stays. Nicely appointed rooms, Sleep Number Beds, great linens (bed and bath) and free, well-equipped business center on the 17th floor. The only draw back is that the tv's are not lcd, but CRT. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Parking garage & security elevators are a plus.
