Very disappointed
it was my wedding anniversary and we reserved a room with a king size bed, but when we got there they did not have any available. I would not have reserved there if I had known plus the room was musty, tub caulking was separated. The hotel needs to be updated tremendously for the price. I am respectfully requesting my room rate be refunded to me in some amount if not all. Thank You...

nice place
I'm not really a good one to write a review since this is the first hotel I have stayed at. I thought it was a really nice place if a bit too fancy for one of my humble means. The staff was very polite and the room was very nice. The ammenaties were a little pricey as was the room but I wanted to take my wife somewhere nice for valentine's day and it was definately a nice place.

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
If you're going to eat in the Belden Village area on a weekend, make a reservation at the restaurant of your choice. It's a very busy area and you will have a wait if you don't no matter where you chose to eat.

McKinley Grand, not so grand
The McKinley Grand Hotel was not as grand as anticipated. While it certainly has a historic charm, my husband and I found that our room was in need of repair. There was a hole in the bathroom ceiling, carpet in need of being restretched or replaced, etc. I was intially displeased with the room but found the hotel staff to be very welcoming and accomodating. Once we had settled in, we ate at a near by restaurant. The location of the hotel is great. There were several places we could go to eat within a short distance from the hotel. When we came back to the hotel we anticipated a restful night's sleep but were disappointed. Loud talkers, people laughing and running up and down the halls, woke us up at 3:00 in the morning. We notified the front desk of the noise but it did not seem to improve. Upon check out we were a little tired and upset about our stay. But the employees at check out didn't seem to care. The man that checked us out barely looked up from his computer and never asked, How was your stay? Perhaps he alreay knew from our faces that it was not grand.

All staff were out going.
The rooms were clean. The shuttle drivers always were so polite. I will be making many trips to Canton over the next several years.

Close to down town
It is probably one of the nicest hotels in the area. The hotel check in didnt go too well but they tried the best they could concidering a huge football team just checked out and the fact that it was Labor Day weekend didnt help. Now I did move from 3 rooms because they were not cleaned properly. The 3rd room was clean but smelled of smoke even though the room was a non smokeing room. I attribute that to the last guest who checked out not the upkeep of the hotel staff. They immediatly re cleaned the room and deoderized it as well. Now I must say I am a clean freak so I went over everything again with paper towel and a organic cleaner just to make sure but, It was spotless they did a fantastic job. The bed was comfortable and they kept the towels comming. Overall I liked the hotel. The Cons would be the gap in the door to the hallway was annoying with light and sounds of people chatting in the hallway. Also the parking garage that is attached by a walkway was a little far at times but thats just cause I am lazy. The downtown area has improved since I was last there but make sure to stay in the parking garage to make things safe. But thats with most dowtown areas even here in Austin,TX. I will stay there again.
