Convenient to Playhouse Square

We went to Cleveland to attend a Dave Koz Christmas show at Playhouse Square and we chose Holiday Inn Express for the location and proximity to both Playhouse Square and the City Center. The lobby was a bit confusing, but the staff was kind and wonderfully helpful. We loved the little old fashioned elevators, but our room was amazing. It was huge, had a hardwood floor, large screen TV and an equally large bathroom, with a huge shower and marble sink. The nearby parking was easy to walk to and had easy access. All in all we were extremely pleased.

Great Stay at the Lake Front

The hotel was an older classy building, the elevators were small and the walls bowed in, giving it kind of an eerie feel. The room was spacious with hard wood floors, and the jacuzzi tub was wonderful. it was a mere 20 minute walk to the Lake Shore activities.

Great location

Stayed for 2 nites. Great location. Close proximity to E 4 street with plenty of restaurants/bars. Only a couple of blocks away from newly opened casino if you are into gaming. Staffs are warmth and helpful. Room is very clean and tidy.

Good value for being right downtown

Everything was at or above expectations except for the morning breakfast. I don't usually rate the breakfast since I consider it an extra perk and it is never the basis for my decision. However, since it's offered and it's in the price, I did breakfast and it was lacking. The pancake machine wasn't working, I think eggs were supposed to be in one of the sterno trays next to the sausage patties but it was emplty, the half & half pitcher was empty.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Right across the street is a bowling alley and one block down is East 6th street which has lots of restaurants, bars/pubs/sports bars, and then the Q Arena at the end of the street.

Not a typical Holiday Inn Express

The staff, location, and cleanliness of the room were great! Lots to do within walking and driving distance. The room was very spacious, and the beds comfortable. Very nice updated bathroom. But, it had a somewhat hodge podge of mismatched furnishings in the room, and the hotel overall did not appear very inviting or warm. Could also hear quite a bit of noises from rooms on either side and above. It looks like the hotel is doing some renovations, though, so there may be some changes in the works.

rude, unprofessional & plays be thier own rules

the staff was rude, unprofessional and substandard during our stay. management was contacted concerning the outrageous charges that were brought up and refused to correct them. rooms were large, but had a foul odor, no microwaves/refrigerators in the rooms. great location but our yearly "man weekend away" will not be returning to this hole.
