The Ritz

Wow! Even the lighting in our 1room suite was excellent! We could not have asked for a more comfortable room or more prompt service. Downtown Cleveland just a short walk away and easy walk if we wanted to visit neighborhood, delicious restaurants. We will definitely stay here again!

Not like any ritz I stayed at

Stayed at ritz Chicago stayed at ritz Orlando grande lakes ritz LA and this is not a ritz. It's a over priced Marriott. Stay was very very rude. When we called to get room service we overheard the order taker say come on when we asked them to hold for a second. Need to all take a class on service. Best service was the valet.

Puttin' on the Ritz

My wife and I went to Cleveland for an overnight to see one of her favorite comedians that was playing the Improv. The trip was to be an anniversary getaway for us, so we didn't mind splurging on a higher end hotel than we normally stay in for a trip of this nature. We couldn't have been happier with the treatment we received. We spent the extra money to stay on the executive level, and from the moment we stepped off the elevator we were treated like we were the only guests they had to serve. Their personal service was reflected in hand written notes left in the room at turndown time, providing us with umbrellas when they found out we were going for a walk around town (it was raining all day), and remembering to ask how the comedy show was the next morning when they greeted us. They had a wide variety of unique food items that they put out at various times in the day, and we checked in regularly to see what the next spread included. We would definitely stay there again.

Shopping tip: In Hotel

There is a mall with just about any kind of store you would need, along with several places to eat, attached to the hotel. You don't even have to go outside to access it from the hotel.

Great Hotel

Very nice experience, staff was very helpful without being overly familiar. Everyone sought to make your time there very enjoyeable. Hotel was downtown but rooms were very comfortable and very quiet. Worth the price to me!

Expected a Little More...

Great car service - was greeted by one of the car attendants and he took care of all my needs. I originally was really excited about this trip because I had never stayed in a luxury hotel. When I arrived at the front-desk the gentleman at the front-desk first told me that my credit card was denied for incidental charges (which seemed odd to me because I am EXTREMELY careful with my credit cards), I then proceeded to give him another credit card, which worked. I then was given my key - AND THAT WAS ALL! I wasn't explained anything else - where the pool was and times it was open, where the hotel restaurant and bar were and times of operation, and most importantly I was not explained anything about my hotel package (I booked the breakfast/valet included package).I didn't even think about these things originally because I was frazzled about my first credit card being 'denied.' I called my credit card immediately and they said no one ever tried to charge anything to it, and there was no hold. So, I have no idea what the problem was.We had breakfast delivered twice to the room and one late night food order. It wasn't until our last breakfast that the hotel personnel mentioned that gratuity was already included (which was NOT mentioned to us the previous two times we ordered food in which we added additional payment for gratuity). Also, the first time we ordered breakfast we were not told exactly what was included in our meals (aside from what was listed on the menu, I figured whatever was described on the menu is what was included) - it wasn't until I ordered the same thing the next day I realized I missed out on portions of my meal because the personnel failed to mention it to me.Finally, I received the bill at check-out, and it was INCORRECT. I was charged for valet parking AND my breakfast which was supposed to already be paid for when I paid for the hotel through [...]. Upon check-out I went to the front-desk to have my bill fixed, the personnel was friendly and fixed it IMMEDIATELY. I'm just hoping in the end I don't get double charged on my first credit card that was 'denied'.All in all I feel I could have stayed somewhere cheaper and still have been just as satisfied. I was not impressed - why did I pay extra for this luxury hotel when I do not feel I was treated any different (I almost was treated worse)? I didn't realize I should have less expectations at this hotel when I paid more...

Very pleasant

Very close to Quicken Loans Arena and Progressive Field. The staff was very courteous and professional, and the room was clean and comfortable. The attached mall was underwhelming to say the least, but the covered walk to the above mentioned sports venues was very convenient. The layout of the hotel was a little confusing, but everyone was very helpful in pointing you in the right direction.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

We had the most marvelous meal at Osteria on St. Clair. It is a small, quaint Italian delight. We had the most authentic food. Our favorite was the ravioli in a rich mushroom cream sauce.
