Gorgeous!
We had a king suite facing the river for New Year's Eve. A straight half mile walk to Nationwide arena for food. Not a bad walk at all. Lovely, spacious room. Couldn't ask for anything more.

Get a river view room for New Years Eve. Cosi is just across the river and had a pretty impressive fireworks show we enjoyed from our room.

Absolutely no complaints
The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was large, quiet and clean, and we had a great view of the Ohio River. From the front door, follow the hall to the elevator. The lobby is on the sixth floor. We didn't see a sign, so it was a bit confusing at first, but everything about the hotel was well above average.

good business location
Attended a conference at the Nationwide Arena. This hotel is a 12 minute walk away, very convenient. Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Suites are very large in size compared to other places I've stayed. Have never had a negative stay

Good Downtown location
Downtown location was good if exploring that area. A bit of a drive if visiting OSU, but not bad. Bathroom tiles had mold and were never cleaned the 3 nights we spent there. Otherwise, great value and staff was polite and pleasant.

Doubletree
Getting to the hotel was not as easy as expected with our GPS system. The area turned out to be in the midst of road rehabilitation and not readily accessible. Maneuvering through the blocks was not difficult, however, and we managed to find the place. What was unexpected was the lack of any doorman or valet to check our bags. To access the lobby, you must take an elevator up five floors past the parking levels of the building. Since we were only staying for a very short period of time, it was not onerous, but anyone with any amount of luggage should be forewarned that you are going to be taking it up the elevator. Parking is additional. I do not remember seeing that on the website, so be sure to include that in your cost. We stayed in the King Suite that was comfortable and roomy. The others who were staying in the hotel seemed to find it enjoyable too, as their party continued in the hallway for a short while, at decibels heard normally only at airports. In short, the hallway walls are thin, but the walls between the rooms seem adequate as their party disapppeared behind closed doors when I made it out our door to ask for some hushed tones. While the above review seems very negative in tone, there was much that was right about the hotel. The rooms are appointed nicely and very comfortable. The sheets are silky soft and the bed envelops your tired bones. Finally, ask for the river view. It is extraordinary. And the location of the hotel in the area of the German neighborhood provides some great food and beer. The legendary Thurman's cafe is a mere 2 miles from the hotel -- a walk you will need if you are going to indulge in one of their hamburgers.

Doubletree Guest Suites Columbus
They were very accommodating. By mistake I booked smoking meaning to book non-smoking. Even though they did not have non-smoking for one night, they were willing to move me every night so I could 2 out of 3 days have non-smoking. Great service, helpful staff, clean, spacious.
