Holiday Inn South Tulsa (81st St) After my recent stay at Holiday Inn South Tulsa, I WOULD NEVER recommend this hotel due to their terrible service. The hotel itself was fine, nothing special, nothing exceptional. Throughout my stay the staff was par, however, they lost a valuable package and the staff was not only negligent in handling in the issue, they've been avoiding resolving the issue. The manager confirmed that his Front Desk Staff signed for the package, they have video of the package being locked away...then it gets 'fuzzy' and they are unsure what happened. That one conversation with the manager was the only, after over a dozen un-returned emails, phone messages and messages with the front desk staff. The last time I spoke to a Front Desk Staff employee, her response to me was, "He [the manager] won't be calling you back, just try corporate". Not only have I yet to hear back from corporate (this is a bit understandable as they are HUGE) but I still have failed to hear from the manager. It has been 2.5 months. I myself work in the Hospitality Industry and understand things happen, things with large staffs, lots of people coming and going, conferences, etc. however, a deafening silence in addressing a serious concern is not only unprofessional, it's inappropriate and demeaning to the issue. Bottom line--if you want any form of customer service, steer away from this Holiday Inn, they won't be listening to hear your complaint or attempt to resolve your situation.

I've Had Better
I was there with my kids for a memorable weekend. The hotel staff was terrible. The elevators took forever and was a huge inconvenience for everyone, not just me. My son left his necklace at the pool. When we left the cleaning guy was in there to close it down, when we went back the necklace was gone and had not been returned. The staff at the little restaurant downstairs were rude and slow. The front desk asked me to "hold on" when I called down with a question, never came back and never returned the call. The cleaning ladies were very unprofessional talking loudly in the hallway complaining about what they wouldn't put up with. It was a nice modern, clean hotel with terrible staff. Not to mention it's location isn't near anything, no restaurants, shops...nothing. I won't return.

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
Do not plan on eating at their restaurant, have a plan on places to drive to and the directions (around the one-way streets) to get there.

staff was nice no problems.Hotel is in down town area.I didn't have any problems. Not a scary place.Would be better for a business trip not for a family trip. There are just not any places close to eat and have fun.It is close to the river area parks and bike trails.beds were pillow top but me and my wife did not sleep good. The room was small but always clean.

Some ups and some downs
Hotel was clean and service was hit or miss. Some of the staff was wonderful and others were on a power trip. The walls were thin and had to work hard not to hear the dramatics next door at night.

Holiday Inn downtown Tulsa
In town for an interview. The hotel shuttle picked me up at the airport and even took me to and from my interview the next day. Car rental is expensive in Tulsa so this was a big plus

gorgeous!
Very nice, new, clean hotel with a very helpful staff! The only downside was the pool is so new that they had not had it inspected so we were not allowed to swim. However, the staff made a phone call and we were able to use the facilities at the Crowne Plaza just around the corner.

Great Place
The check in process was quick and the people were friendly. The hotel provides a shuttle for locations within a 3 mile radius, so we were able to go to our concert hassle-free. The beds were comfortable and the restaurant that is part of the hotel, the Boulder Grill, is excellent.

Tulsa Fall 2010
The hotel amenities were FANTASTIC! However, the elevators were sooo slow and there were hardly any trolleys to carry your luggage to and from your hotel room, so we ended up having to carry a baby and all our luggage out to our car while waiting for a long time for the elevators.

Holy cow! Best bed I ever slept on!
Very courteous, professional, friendly staff; clean, very well kept-up property; and, quite simply, the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on (one of my most frequent complaints about the hotel industry is the cheap, lousy beds they sentence their guests to slumber on).
