Nothing Worked!!!
We were just on an overnight to have a place to sleep between two days of obligations in the area - it was not intended to be a vacation. We had coolers with some food in them, and when we got to the room, the fridge was completely warm (understandable if no one had been in the room recently, but a real drag that we couldn't refrigerate our food). So we went to the ice machine, hoping to replenish the ice in our coolers until the fridge got cool... none of the ice machines in the entire hotel worked. We turned the refrigerator on, and went out to dinner (by the way, Carraba's across the street is an INCREDIBLE restaurant - best Italian meal our family had ever had! Everything was homemade.) When we got back to the room, we tried to "double-bolt" our door for the night, but realized the door was off the hinge, and we could not lock the door. My husband did not sleep the entire night, because people were slamming doors all night, being really loud coming and going, almost as if the hotel was renting rooms by the hour. The next morning we realized that there was not enough toilet paper left in the room (just what was already on the roll, but no extra rolls anywhere), so I had to go down to the desk to get more. When I went to shower, I was finally able to understand why the bathroom door (which, by the way was also off the hinge) was almost rotting at the bottom... The shower curtain did not stay closed, no matter how hard I tried to hook it to the end. Therefore, water poured out of the shower onto the floor, right under the door! When we packed everything to go, we took our food out of the fridge and realized all the food had frozen solid!!! The breakfast was fine - they had exactly what they claimed they would have.

Carraba's Italian restaurant right across the street was absolutely incredible. Not too expensive, fresh food, cooked to order, great family environment. Best part of the whole experience.

comfort and proximity to all
I stayed here with my son during a ski weekend. It was one of the closest hotels to the mountain. Close to many restaurants and attractions, including Dorney park across the street. After a day of skiing and snowboarding it was nice to settle down in a clean, cozy hotel. I loved sitting in the hot tub while my son splashed around in the pool.

Good value but not fancy
The place is a bit worn but the room is clean and functional. Microwave, fridge, coffee maker, iron & board, all in room. Unfortunately no pad of paper and pen on the desk, and no power outlet near the desk. Wifi included free but it's rather slow. The included breakfast is there, but don't expect much. It was rather disappointing, but for a one night stay I didn't mind too much. All in all, it's a reasonable deal for the price.

disappointing overnight stay
the hotel does have signs up, "pardon our appearance" but i was still disappointed. we didn't hear our neighbors talking or their tv but anytime someone turned water on to take a shower, it was like an explosion in our room. the room darkening shades don't adequately cover the window and there are no other curtains. our room was on the ground floor so we could have had conversations with anyone in the parking lot. it lacks privacy. the thin blanket was not enough for sleeping. yes, we could have turned the heat up but since it is dry air heat, it would have become difficult to breath. the sheets did not stay on the bed - at all. our shower dripped from the time we arrived - plink, plink, plink. the room wasn't worth more than $40 and we paid double that. live & learn!

Right across the street is a Baskin Robbins/Dunkin Donut which is open 24 hours/day. Great ice cream and close by - we loved it!

T-Town racer
Never again
I was visiting the area to race at the Trexlertown velodrome. As a bike racer I have stayed in many many "budget" motels and this was by far the worst. Security was non-existent, friends were given my room number by simply asking at the desk. I lost my key and asked for a new one and all they required was my room number. It was not clean, the same empty beer bottle laid by the front door for the entire week of my visit. I witness a teenager attempting to open every door in my hallway and the manager/clerk told me "she was just playing." Never again will I stay at Howard Johnson's.
