Average all around, but recommended

The room was nothing special and the location is pretty lousy, (outside of downtown in a little vacant area off the highway) but the staff was actually surprisingly knowledgeable and friendly and able to help me with some information about town, parking etc. Certainly there is nothing in walking distance, but if you need to be in Allentown for a night or two, you could really do worse.

"Not bad"

This hotel is not a bad place for the price. You can definitly tell the hotel is older, but everything in the room was clean. The bed was actually really nice too. They offer a continental breakfast which suprised me, but was a very nice touch to the stay. Clerks were very friendly and helpful.

Good for the price

We were in town for a bowling tournament. The hotel was very close to the alleys. Very little to offer for breakfast.

How is this a AAA 3 Diamond hotel?

The purpose of our trip to Allentown, was to visit family. The room itself was okay. We had to ask for more towels, soap, shampoo, etc which should have already been in a room for 2 people. The personnel at the front desk were not friendly, they seemed to want to rush to answer your questions as if they were doing you a favor. The brochure in the room included Belgian Waffles in the breakfast menu, instead there were cold hard boiled eggs and "fried" eggs the size of a sausage patty that seemed to have been frozen and warmed in the microwave. The iron in the room was cracked and broken, which I did not notice until I attempted to put water in it and the water poured out of it all over my clothes. I have never been so disappointed in a motel before. I will never stay at this hotel again.

Nice for a short trip

This hotel was great for our weekend getaway with the kids and the dog! Although the room was spacious with great amenities, it could've used some cleaning up. Our toilet was clogged, the bedsheets were stained and the rug could've used some vaccuming. Definitely would not stay for a long period of time, but overall it was decent for the price we paid.

Don't let the 3 diamonds fool you!

The hotel was dingy from the minute you walk in. [...] The elevator was not working. When we entered our first floor room ( fortunately, there was one available) we could see that the carpet was bare with holes; the walls had all sorts of holes, the door did not automatically close ( you had to pull the door to the room to close it) , the shower curtain had mildew on it. The sheets were clean, but pilled because they was old and worn out. The roll away cot was uncomfortable and the staff only included one sheet that was too large for the cot along with a throw and pillow. Towels - rough and too small. And the toilet paper was unbelievably rough - where did they find it? Home Depot with the sandpaper? The breakfast was minimal at best - don't look for fresh fruit, yogurt, hot cereal, hard boiled eggs or cream cheese. The road for the hotel is quiet, but it is quite a distance from any stores or restaurant. In summary, the 3 diamonds didn't prepare me for the dated/decrepit facilities. I will have to return many times to the Allentown area over the next 4 years and I won't be staying at this hotel.

NEVER NEVER AGAIN WITH QUALITY INN!

We were visiting a plant in Reading, PA but decided to spend the night in Allentown. We were out all day but returned to found our door wide opened. My laptop, GPS, Cellphone, and camera were safe. Thank God! but you know my hard Drive could have been copied. I accidentally booked a non smoking handicapped room but was changed to non handicapped. Getting to the room, it smell smoke. Called the reception desk (the phone had a loud buzzing sound) we immediately retrieved and waited outside to receive keys to the new room. It took forever that we have to go down to the reception to get the new key. This room smells much better but the towels smell cigarete smoke, the high speed was like a dial up. The breakfast was nothing but just coffee. Almost the whole property smells smoke and you can see some guys standing just looking without minding their business. The state needs to inspect this property for possible violations.

Cheap & Clean + Free Breakfast

About 2 miles from Allentown Fairgrounds which made for a quick, convenient commute (I worked at a 3-day convention over the weekend). Hotel was great for the price and I was able to secure parking in front every night. Saturday night, a large group of hooligans decided to use the lobby as a makeshift social lounge. But just as I was trying to relax in my bed on the 2nd floor so I could watch "Keeping up with the Kardashians" around 11:30pm, people repeatedly ran up & down the stairwell. They also opened & closed their doors really loudly, & talked loudly as if they were at a hockey game or wrestling match. It was evident that this group of inconsiderate heathens knew each other. Sure, it's not a library but it's a hotel where people SLEEP. Noise before 10pm is one thing. But frat party-style shouting is unacceptable during late hours. I paid for a room with a BED & planned on using it for its intended purpose. So I looked out my peephole to ensure that the hall was clear, opened my door, & then slammed it so hard you would've thought that the entire building shook. That was my passive aggressive way of wordlessly saying: "Shut [*] up" & it worked because really, alerting the front desk wouldn't have done any good.Complimentary breakfast was great. Then again, who can resist mini muffins, waffles, assorted bagels, fruit juice & cereal? It was a carb-lovers dream.

The cheapest gas station is the Sunoco, which is only 2 lights before the hotel. The other gas stations aren't open all night.

You get what you pay for

We stayed to go skiing. The lobby was old and run down. There were 3 shady guys sitting in the lobby watching in inappropriate reality tv show and I was with my kids. The elevator door looked like someone threw up on it.. not cleaned in weeks. When we stepped off the elevator we were met with the smell of mold and cigarettes. I am a non smoker and this really turned me off. The room did not smell clean and there was dirt on the floor including an unidentifiable pill of some sort. The sheets and beds appeared clean. People carrying on in the hallway and room next door kept me up till 3am. Unacceptable. I will never stay here again.
