No internet on the room they gave us first. They did move us, so we could get internet. Only decaf coffee in the breakfast area. Bath water wasn't warm.

It was not far from lots of shopping and resteraunts. However, the building is pretty run down. It was an ok stay but, will probaly never go there again. I will pay a little more and get a nicer hotel. IT WAS VERY CLEAN THOUGH. WHICH IS A HUGE PLUS FOR ME!!! Hated the HUGE windows!!! The staff was Great!

The room was immaculate, sheets and towels smelled clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Had a city/marina view from the 5th floor, very nice at night and pretty in the morning. I was not happy about the 12 dollar a day parking fee in addition to the room charge. Also no entrance from the parking garage into the hotel. This was a problem at night, being alone and female. I can't imagine walking around the building to get inside in the winter time! Waited two days to get clean towels, not a major problem since I was traveling alone, but not great service. I booked in a package so the price was reasonable, doubt if it would be booking directly.

It was an "ok" room, it had a slight musty smell in it. The cleaning lady wasn't very friendly when we asked for fresh towels. We asked for our room not to be touched and when we got back from lunch the beds were made. The pool also had a slight green tint too it the time that we stayed there. Online it said they had hbo but didn't and the internet service was very frustrating.. in and out constantly. Comp. breakfast... what comp breakfast???? didn't see much of anything there. But all in all if i needed a place to stay and wanted a low price i would stay there.. just to have somewhere to stay cause I didn't see any bugs and it seemed pretty clean.

the place was ok nothing over whelming, was fair for the money. family was comfortable but the hotel is a little older so it has some wear and tear, but clean. if you are expecting the latest forget it. i liked the hotel was in semi residential area felt safe, no problems. recommend you go out for dinner, breakfeast was buffet $4 was ok. not far from millcreek mall i79 and i79 to grovecity outlet mall for shopping good home base.

A comfortable place to stay in Erie

I was in Erie to interview at LECOM and SpringHill Suites was a perfect combination of location and comfort for me. There are a number of restaurants in the area that deliver and they have a mini convenience store near the font desk for any incidentals you may need.
All in all, this is a great place to stay. The only think I didn't like was the lack of certain TV stations, but I wasn't there to watch TV so it was no big deal.

The rooms are huge. The setup with two twin beds seemed to be the smallest they offer, and that came with a partitioned office / sitting room area with a sleeper sofa, bar with a fridge and microwave, decent-sized TV, and of course the twin beds.
Staff is very friendly and accommodating.
I only wish they had smaller rooms for a lower price.

Had a king suite. Room was clean and comfortable. Recommend the hotel. Right next to 90. Was able to get around the city easily from here. Breakfast was subpar.

My stay at the la quinta was quite wonderful. The room looked great and was clean and the ladies at the front desk couldn't of been any nicer. bathroom was very nice, room had cozy lighting, bedding was comfortable, a/c and heat worked very nice. even though it's 75' from I90, it was rather quiet. it is within 8 miles of waldameer, bicentennial tower, harbor view mini golf, flagship niarga. will be staying there next year for our company picnic.

We stay at this hotel in order to visit family in the area. It's conveniently located and inexpensive. The room is comfortable and clean. There's nothing terribly special about the hotel, but for a cheap night's stay it's fine. The included breakfast is sufficient.

Staff was friendly and helpful. room was clean,but a little outdated and could use some sprucing up. Location was OK, but pulling out into traffic was a little tough in the morning and evening. Good if you are there to go to casino. Shuttle to casino was added bonus! Shuttle driver (Jim) was a great guy.

Was there visiting son and grandchildren. There was a severe winter storm while I was there, which limited my enjoyment. But the hotel was fine, except they did not plow their parking areas, causing some difficulty getting in and out of the auto.

This visit served it's purpose. Nothing spectacular but we had a good nights sleep and then left to go shopping for the day. Staff was very personable. Breakfast buffet was medicore.

Fantastic family getaway

When we walked into the room, my wife was n-love with it and gave me a kiss. It was like a little home. You see how I rated everything from about so there is not much to say. There was one bad thing about the room but it was not a biggy and it was dealing withe bed. The fitted sheets kept on coming off. Before I went to this hotel, I read someone elses review and that was the only thing bad they said as well but I plan on going back. I don't plan on letting this small problem keep me from coming back here. The breakfast was lovely and the finger foods was nice as well.Swam alot in the hotel and on the beach. Nice places to eat.

We loved the hotel.. the staff was excellent helpful and friendly the location was spot on within walking distant to the mall and we had everything we needed right around us.. the room was beautiful clean and the cleaning staff went above I would come back to the room and everthing was nice and clean they even ran the dishwasher for me we will be coming back to Erie next year and their is no doubt where we will be staying.. It was truly a beautiful hotel..

We stayed at this hotel 5 years ago and had a nice experience. This stay left a lot to be desired. The hotel was not clean, there was a giant water puddle outside of our room that I heard a few people fall in, the stairs were covered with cigarette butts and trash. Our TV was from really old and barely worked. There were tons of bikers that stay the same weekend as us and the noise, profanity, and drinking was out of control. We will not be staying here again.

The Glass House Inns 30 rooms are tastefully decorated. Amenities include continental breakfast in our cozy dining area. Our rooms have free wireless internet access, in room coffeemakers, small refrigerators, microwaves, hairdryers, irons, ironing boards, extended cable TV with HBO and air conditioning. We also have a heated outdoor pool, open seasonally until 11 PM. The motel is only 2 miles from Presque Isle State Park on Lake Erie. There are 7 miles of sandy beaches, hiking and biking trails, fishing, boating, canoeing, scuba diving, picnicking and bird watching. Millcreek Mall shopping is just 3 miles away. Presque Isle Downs and Casino, Lake Erie Speedway and the Erie Zoo are minutes away. Waldameer Amusement Park and Water Park is less than 2 miles from us. We were pleasantly surprised. A bit of the old and new with flowery wallpaper on accent wall, very well-maintained, very clean, family-run facility. Superb plumbing. Cold breakfast items including fruit at dining tables with shared jelly jars. Best part of travel to Erie is to enjoy Lake Erie and Presque Isle State Park which is a couple miles away, and great for birding, walking, biking, fishing, boat rentals, picnics, swimming (Memorial Day through Labor Day), etc., or just a 14 mile slow drive. Teenager, of course, loved easy internet connection. Let owners know ahead of time if you are arriving late. Check out the wineries along route 6 east of Erie if you've got time.

I chose this place for my girlfriend, her daughter and I.
I was convinced by the reviews I read on various travel sites for this small, family run business. As other reviewers had written, it was a bit of a dated place, but that what gives it its charm. It reminded me of the little places I stayed at with my parents when we travelled as I was growing up, and I found it perfect for the same sort of trip with my new, young family. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
We were only in town for the one night, and found the location great for a short visit to Erie. It was very close and central to everything. We were only minutes away from places, such as the Millcreek Mall, Presque Isle State Park, The Environmtal Centre, countless restaurants and grocery stores. And even a Tim Hortons close by (for those Canadians looking for a bit of familiarity)!!
Coming in from Ontario, it was a great location as it was not far and easy to find from the highway. The staff were very polite and more than willing to help in anyway they could. The complimentary breakfast was more than adequate to get you on your way in the morning.
I would definitely visit the Inn again anytime I stay in the area. I was there in November and would like very much to stay in the summer when the gardens are in full bloom and the pool is open.
Overall, it was a great little place. If you are a rude, picky sort of gueast, I would recommend going elsewhere (for your sake, as well as the other guests and staff). If you are looking for pleasant atmosphere, good value, and the things you really need for a stay, this is a great place.

We were looking for an inexpensive stopover in Erie.
This place fit the bill. Nothing fancy and good rate.
My only issue is with the bed linens. It's time for an update on blanket and sheets. We would stay here again.

A very pleasant experience

We were extremely impressed with our room at this property. We had never stayed anywhere that did not have your basic motel layout before so we were very pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness and layout of this room. Normally more than 2 people in a basic room makes for a crowd but this room could easily have held at least 6 people for a small party and still not have been crowded.
We had planned to go to Splash Lagoon during our stay not knowing that it was directly attached to the Residence Inn so the fact that it was attached was a definite plus. We bought our lunch at Splash Lagoon but if we had it to do over again, we could save a bundle by bringing food and going back to our room because of the convenience and the fully equipped kitchen in our room.
We were also very pleased with the friendliness of the entire staff. The only negatives were that the bed seemed a little stiff (but keep in mind that we are used to sleeping with 4 inches of memory foam on top of our mattress) and the lack of preparedness for the crowd at Sunday morning breakfast. With over an hour to go they were out of plates, silverware, English muffins, juice cups, napkins, oatmeal and waffle batter, only some of which were eventually replenished. Dirty dishes were overflowing their bin as was the trashcan. People were leaving all their dishes on the tables since there was no place for them thus making it hard for newcomers to find a place to eat.
But all in all we had a very nice stay and would definitely stay there again on another visit.

The room was nice but the hotel breakfast was not very good. The dining area was small, the food did not get replenished very quickly and tables were not cleared. The carpetting in our room was wet from a leak.

We went to Erie from Buffalo for a few days to get away and relax with our adult children.
The hotel itself and the rooms were very clean. Although I did not go in the pool, my kids did and said it was warm and clean! The breakfast in the morning was nice too. I enjoyed making fresh waffles!
Sometimes the staff was a little preoccupied and we had to wait for while until they attended to us even though no one else was around. We also had a little problem with an in room movie we rented. Other than that..a very very nice hotel!
If you are traveling to Erie to go to Splash Lagoon, they are right across the street!

While my mother was in the hospital in Erie, I needed a place that was close by but that I would be comfortable in and feel safe at. Wingate definitely fit the bill. Extremely clean, nice shower and bathroom, and a convenient work desk all made my stay very nice. Breakfast buffet had many options too.
