Budget Host Inn Dutch Country

Stayed overnight for trip to Lancaster. The hallway had a gross smell, but the room did not smell...pretty dirty though. First thing we did was check for bedbugs (none). No tissues in bathroom, only one trashcan. Was terrified to even touch the bedspread. Carpet was filthy. I realize this is not a 4 star hotel, but a little cleanliness is not too much to ask. Neighborhood is definitely "the hood"...shell out a few more dollars and stay somewhere nicer, this was no bargain.

This is an older motel, but it was a very good stay. [...] the desk clerk was extremely helpful and gave me excellent detailed directions to where my meeting was. She went up and beyond the call of duty.I would recommend this motel to anyone wanting to stay in the Lancaster area.

The hotel/room was very run down, mildew on carpet by the bathroom from extensive water leaking from tub. Outside of building appears very old, in huge need of renovation or demolition. Entire hotel looked as if it hadn't been updated in many many years. The water park was closed, was not a full free breakfast, but a "continental" breakfast. Accidentally forgot a $35 box of chocolate from the local Wilbur Chocolate factory, when we called, supposedly no one had found it and was not in room. This was about an hour after we'd checked out. Obviously either the cleaning crew or the front desk decided it was Easter early (or late) this year, and kept it for themselves. Not a lot of money, but was the principle of it. Straight out lies that is wasn't there. Obviously if we didn't have it in the car, it was still in the room, remember setting it by the door on the luggage rack, then forgot it when we grabbed the carseat and diaper bag. Consider taking this hotel off your list of hotels to do business with!!

When we arrived we check in. We had two rooms... first room was a handicap room with my mom dad brother and nephew. Second room was a reg motel room with myself husband cousin and my two children. We stayed here two nights cause of spending time in dutch wonderland for preveiw night. We mainly stayed also cause of water park. Well water park was close! We swam in pool one time and when we went back to room our clothes smelled like PURE bleech (maybe thats why pool was nice and clean?)! Bed was okay... not even comfy... breakfast both morning sucked! No Bacon! No Sausage! No Milk? You gotta be kidding me... we stayed cause we figured breakfast would save some money well nope it sucks and we ate out more! Staff barely spoke english while everyone was swimming my mother and i asked front desk about breakfast well the young kid said "sausage bacon waffles eggs bacons muffings fruit" --- lie right there! Please dont even bother staying here... I coulda spent same amount at a nicer hotel! They need to change what their hotel has to offer!

iF YOU DO NOT SEE IT IN YOUR ROOM WHEN YOU CHECK IN MOST LIKEY YOU WILL NOT SEE IT WHILE YOU ARE THERE UNLESS YOU ASK. NO COFEE FOR THE POT IN YOUR ROOM.

Upon arrival, we were assigned a room. when we entered the room we found that the room contained garbage, toiletries,& stuffed animals from previous occupants. Although the beds were made,(not fresh linen)and dirty glasses remained we were informed that the room had been marked clean. The maid staff arrived to re-clean the room so we had to leave the room again for an hour. when we returned the room was indeed clean however these rooms need serious refurbishing. The shower needs to be re-tiled. The cieling had cracks and paint peeling in several placesand the furniture was worn and shabby. The hotel's indoor water park was closed for an undetermined period of time.
